Kidd: "No Smalls Have Played 'Til 40..."

Kidd on playing four more years:
"No smalls, no little guys have played 'til forty. So it would be quite an accomplishment."
Better play 6 if you're looking to accomplish something, considering a point guard more talented than you already did the whole forty thing.
(I don't know why that bothers me, but it does. Just sweeping Stock under the rug again, as usual.)

I miss old school Kirilenko...
13 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 6 blocks.
15 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks.
Darn injuries had to take so much from him.

The sad thing is that he was doing this early this season...
About Stock and Kidd, I'm not surprised at all that Kidd thinks he is the only PG to have played the game. He may have been worthy to worship at the feet of Stockton when he was at the peak of his game, but I would never take him over Stock on my team. I won't say that John was the best PG to ever play, but he was the purest and toughest. And my favorite thing, he was probably the most humble guy to play the game. You have a lot to learn yet Kidd...

If Kidd does play till he's 40, I have a feeling his last few years will be similar to Cassell/Payton

I'm pretty sure that John Stockton was the best 36+ year old in NBA history, regardless of position. Malone is the only one who was close, really. Jason Kidd is already a mediocre player, and will be a trainwreck by the time he's 40.

Kareem was Finals MVP at 37, and averaging 23 ppg at 38.

AK at the buzzer!!!!!!!!!
Dude, look at Stockton's stats from his last season compared to Kidd that year, when he went to the finals. Stock averaged 27.7 mpg and got 7.7 assists, 1.7 steals, 2.2 TO's, and 10.8 PPG.
In 9.7 more MPG, Kidd averaged 8.9assists, 2.2 steals, 3.7 TO's, and 18.7 PPG. Imagine if Stockton played 37.4 MPG that season.

Are you forgetting a certain player whose initials are MJ? I"d say he's at least up there with Stock, and while I realize it's a sore spot for many Jazz fans, you look the fool - in spite of your username - if you ignore his accomplishments.
During his last season, at the age of 39-40, he scored 20 or more points 42 times, 30 or more points nine times, and 40 or more points three times. Not exactly a slouch!

I personally love Ostertag's stat line in the first game.
He started, played 6 total minutes, turned the ball over 2 times, had 4 fouls, and didn't score.
