I don't think location was ever big on Boozer's list after Carmani got better. I can see Detroit being a player for him (or Sap). Now I see tha Jazz as having the upper hand, and could do a S&T for whomever we lose. Before the last injury Booer was getting really comfortable here. If the 2010 class wasn't so crowded I could see him holding off on free agency.

The whole Boozer to Miami thing was waaaaay overplayed and referenced, imo. Bad fit in the first place, with their personnel, and really the only thing that indicated a possible match was the fact that he has a home there. Whoopee.

On the other hand, I think the Pistons are a legit threat to take him from us...but I really think that Dumars covets Bosh, and will do whatever he can to get his hands on him. Boozer doesn't really fit with the mentality that they have in Detroit.

Also, there is an excellent chance that Boozer now doesn't opt out at all. I'd still say its less than 50%, but with the extreme financial ramifications of a long term deal in today's economy, I don't see any team laying down 15+ million a year over 5 years for a guy that just barely missed a huge chunk of the year for the 3rd time in 5 years. Especially in the wake of the Gilbert Arenas contract. Basically, he has to weigh the pros and cons of losing 2-3 million next year by NOT opting out versus the extra money he might get in 2010 once the economy is back on track and, hopefully, once he gets a full season of relative health behind him as well.

The risks of not opting out still outweight the rewards, imo, but its getting really close to even. This injury might end up being a good thing.

Yeah, really don't be surprised if Detroit puts together a huge package for Bosh this deadline.

The Heat basically have JO/Haslem/Beasley as their frontcourt, while it's a good front court, it's far from the best out there. They could certainly bring Haslem off the bench. Either way we, we let him walk, or trade him, OR sign him for less than the max, which may or may not happen with all the teams who may be reserving themselves for 2010.

Well the Grizzlies can be counted out. Heisley was on one of the local radio sports shows a little while back and said this, "I'm not gonna run out and signup some guy 28 or 29 years of age and pay him $15M and lose Rudy Gay."

I think Detroit is a player if they think Lebron is out. And the thing is Lebron is out. He is either Knicks or Cavs. Bosh is likely Knicks. The Knicks can sign both Bosh and Lebron. They will sign Bosh first to entice Lebron as he makes his obligatory look at me tour. Detroit however must make that gamble a season early. With Detroit and Miami out, who's left? Oklahoma City? Pffffft. 'least we got Sundance. If CeCe isn't into SLC she sure as hell won't dig Oklahoma. And as much as I feel for Seattle it is damn nice to have a new worst place to be young rich and black nominee. Fact is Milwaukee is way too close to Chicago to take the heat off.
