Our interior defense is terrible ... our interior defense is terrible .... our interior defense is terrible ... My, what a bunch of parrots in this forum. Sounds like a broken record. If there is a single thing that all should be aware of ... the perimeter defense has been and continues to be even worse!

I totally disagree with you. Watch the games a little more closely and you'll realize that the only reason there are open shots on the perimeter is because our defenders on the perimeter HAVE TO collapse on the interior when the ball is inside or its an automatic 2 points. Did you see all the bad shots CJ forced Kobe to shoot the other night? That was a thing of beauty. It prevented Bryant from taking the game over.

CJ was incredible. I don't know if I've ever seen better defense on Kobe...it took him 33 shots to get 37 points. It almost pisses me off that he's been hiding that this entire time...he plays like that against the elite 2's in the league, and we are twice as good as we were.

But I tend to agree that our interior D is worse than our perimeter D. We give up a lot of open 3's but alot of it is due to the fact that our backcourt can't trust our frontcourt to hold the fort, thus having to mortgage their defensive position to try and avoid easy 2 pointers. Sad thing is, if the opposing team doesn't kick it out and burn us for three, we usually just foul anyway.

I think the team has more than enough talent to play defense (how much talent does it take anyway?). Considering the quick feet and athleticism of a few of our players (booze, CJ etc) it's pretty pathetic that we usually get %50 effort on the defensive end.

Our perimeter defense is NBA average. Our interior defense does not exist basically.

Our interior defense is non-existant with AK injured.

We simply have no players that will challenge shots. We really don't have ones that will step out and take a charge either. I don't know how many times I watch Okur step aside while the opposing player comes in for a dunk. Boozer is the same way. Those two are allergic to protecting the rim. Ronnie Price does a better job.

Mutumbo, TODAY, would give us better post defense than we have. And what is he, 72 years old?
