What Sloan needs to change

Post#1 » by BarneyGumble » Sat Feb 21, 2009 3:21 am

1) Swap Collins' minutes for Koufos. The young guy brings energy, which our second unit lacks if AK is having an off-night. I know Collins has experience blah blah blah, but maybe Koufus can be that underrated guy that plays great D on Gasol in the playoffs....

2) Make Price the main backup PG. Same reason as above. He is a more gifted scorer than Knight, and can run the up-tempo game. If he struggles, scrap him. But give him more chances. Knight hasnt hit a shot since the Russians launched Sputnick....

I disagree. Both things will make the Jazz less defensive and more prone to mistakes and turnovers. The Jazz do not need points from these positions. Koufos will be better, but he will be a player who has the offense run through him, not around him. Collins is more physical and readier to hit a player or the floor.

I have to agree with DelanyRudd. Price is a nice little player, but Knight gives us that stability on both ends of the court that you need to win games. If Koufos can get better at man defense rather than position defense he will be ready to replace Collins, but for now Jarron is a good, steady vet that just goes out and gets the job done--even if it isn't pretty.

The reason Kosta has landed in Jerrys dog house is because he doesnt know the plays and he doesnt set a very good screen. Simple as that.

Once our bench is full healthy Knight is the clear choice.

Clearly our backup PG of the future is not on the roster now. If Utah is smart they take a page out of SASs book and draft a George Hill type.
