Nice article about the Jazz

I saw this posted on Jazzfanz and I couldn't help but post it over here. It makes some good points regarding the overall talent and durability of this team, and gives us a lot of previously unrecieved credit. However even with articles as glamorizing as this, I still don't see the Jazz suddenly becoming a road juggernaut. The games against below-par teams Golden State and Minnesota took us until the 4th quarter to pull away, and that has done anything but convince me that we are a "changed team" on the road. But who knows, maybe this really will be the year where we turn it around. Who am I to say that we won't?

The Jazz aren't a road juggernaut, and probably won't be at any time this season. However don't discount how hard it is to win on the road anywhere in the league. And also don't forget that the Jazz are a juggernaut at home. I have faith that the Jazz will win at least 6 out of every 7 home games against any team in the league. It pretty much means, regardless of where you are in the playoffs, you can force 7 games. And the fact is, in a 7 game series where the Jazz play four on the road I think they are a good enough road team to take 25% of the games they play on the road against playoff teams, which means I think they are capable of beating any team, in any series, HCA or not.

It won't be easy, but gaining belief that you can win on the road is half the battle, and if they can get to a point where they really believe they can win their road games, they will be a very dangerous team.

Absolutely agree.

It seems that winning on the road is 75% mental- with the Jazz, its probably closer to 110%. Obviously after this month we'll have a much better idea of what kind of team we're looking at.
