Is this team...

the greatest Jazz team in franchise history? Sure, the 1996-1997 and 1997-1998 teams may have won more games, but they did not deal with the injury problems this team has dealt with. I really think that this is the Jazz's year to finally win a title. If they were to win the championship, they have to be the greatest team ever, don't they? No other team in franchise history can claim that fact. This year's team is so talented and so deep that I don't know how anyone can beat them right now. It is sad that they were bitten by the injury bug, because they would be pushing 70 wins this season if they were healthy.

I think you may be overselling it a bit. Still, it's hard to not do so on the back of this winning streak.
But, no, this is not the greatest team in Jazz history.

I would agree that this is being overselled a bit too much. They are hot right now, but really it comes down to how Deron Williams is playing. If he has an off night during this road trip they are likely going to lose. Besides the Jazz teams of the late 90's were incredibly deep as well and they played much better defense, but not as good of an offense. When you lose to a legend like Jordan, you were practically champions and likely would have been champions any other year. They were just unfortunate to be playing against a guy that was one of the best that ever played and made EVERYONE around him 10 times better than they really were. That is definitely a hard matchup to beat, and I really don't see this years team having to face anyone like that.

How many games on the trot did the Rockets win last year? And they lost in the first round.
This team isnt as good as either of those finals team not to mention the lockout shortend season either. I still dont know what happened that year? We were 32-8 but finished 5-5 over the last 10.
BTW No team has won a championship without having a winning record on the road in the last 15 years. Even after winning their last 4 roadies Utah would have to finish out 7-3 away from home to be plus 500 for the season.

Yet to be proven....yet, obviously, if they win the 'chip on top of all the things that have happened to them this season, it would certainly qualify.
Still, almost certainly a sentiment born of euphoria.

With the new information coming out about how the salary cap will decrease I think this bodes very good for this team staying together. This news will be good for: Small market teams; teams in economically healthy cities; and teams that already have good young players. This will mean that LA, Portland and Utah will be at an advantage. I know LA doesn't fit into that criteria so well, but they are at such a high level, with their top players still having a half a decade of top play I don't see a decline like you will see in Detroit and later Boston. How bad is this for New York? In two years their decade of tanking will get them Chris Bosh! And the Jazz will have their pick.

If they win the Chip, yes, if not, then no.

I think you have a chance of beating LAL and SAS and reach the finals. Great bench, great coach...I will cheer for you in West.
Greetings from Boston

We won't be able to even compare with those elite jazz teams of the past until we become more of a threat on the road. Maybe (hopefully) these last 2 road games are indicative of new trend.

Stockton-Malone-Eaton or a Stockton-Hornacek-Malone beats our team any day of the week.

I love the past Jazz teams, but it seems like the farther we move from them things are forgotten: like they weren't a great offensive team, the Finals teams were both top 3 ppg in the L, that they wer a great road team, they weren't they did have a winning road record tho, that they wer great defensively, really you do remember that we had Horny & Stock as our backourt right...they weren't stopping anyone, the frontcourt held it's own but what that team did do well was get stops when it mattered. Still way to early to call the current team the "greatest" and even if they win it all those two Finals teams were IMHO one of the best teams ever, they just happened to play in the day of THE best team ever....

That may or may not be true. If this team wins a championship, then obviously, this team would be better. PERIOD. Chances of this team getting past a team like San Antonio or L.A. in the conference finals? Slim, but not impossible (especially if its against SA). The thing I would be worried about is playing someone like Boston or Cleveland in the finals. I'm not sure if this Jazz club is ready for that kind of challenge. We'll certainly see though....

I like our 98 team against the 98 bulls than I do against this team against the 98 bulls.
