This game will say a lot about how the jazz season will end. It could end on a disappointing note as we drop to 7th or even 8th seed, or on a strong note as we compete for the division title and finish with a decent seed. This game is HUGE for both teams. Let's go jazz!

Game is Thursday on TNT at 10:30 eastern

I imagine Denver is heavily favored. If the Jazz don't win this game, their hopes for the division title are finished.

You guys still care about the division title? As long as we stay out of SA and LA's way until the WCF I'll be fine with the 7th seed. We are NOT getting HCA anyway. The games we need to win are @ SA to keep them out of the 2 seed and @ Dallas to keep them out of the 7th seed. But we won't win @ SA. Houston and Denver have the same amount of losses at 26, and Portland and NO have 27 with one game left @ SA, so they could easily catch them. Factor in tiebreaking scenarios and multiple team tiebreakers, and realistically SA could fall as low as 6, but more likely 3-5. The division is not important. HCA is not important, we aren't getting it against the two teams we need it against.

One thing though, Portland with HCA scares me. I haven't seen anything that gives me hope of us winning there. But the Clippers won there.

I hope Houston wins tonight, I want them to be ahead of SA. No point rooting for us to catch up to teams, it's not happening. Things are looking good, they will work out for us and we will be playing the Lakers in the WCF come May. If Denver wins, I won't be upset.

Nuggets are celebrating the NBA's 'Green Week' by wearing green jerseys. When asked about his thoughts on green week, Carmelo Athony responded, "It's great man, I love the green. Can't get enough of that stuff. Glad to see Stern finally stop frontin."

Huge game here. It would be a sweet win but a horrible loss. Let's go Jazz!

Green week? The Jazz have green retro jerseys. It would be cool if the players wear them at least once evry season.

This is a loss. This team is mentally shot which sucks because it is way too late to make some sort of lineup switch.*

I am convinced we may yet miss the playoffs.

*See my analogy for being a Jazz fan in the Blazers game thread.

I don't expect a win, but I expect us to at least be competitive, last game was an embarrassment to the players so I expect them to play a lot better vs. Denver.... Denver probably isn't going to just score at will like Portland did, I expect a better defensive effort....and remember we have had success on Denver's home floor in the past couple of seasons

Fresh legs going into this one is a positive and I'm sure Sloan got up into his players after last game, big game none the less. If Utah can pull this one off, it's a huge step mentally going into the playoffs.

For real? Any combination of Phoenix losses and Jazz wins totaling 2 clinches a spot for us.

And is anybody reading my posts? Who cares about winning? It's all about seeding. Go Nuggets!!!!!!!!! Stay ahead of SA!!!!!!

IMHO the most important thing about this game is to try to win it just to put some decent sense of thoughness into our darn softy players. If our bunch of boy scouts din't get harsh enough, we could perfectly still be watching a darn pile of loses to end regular season... our team looked so darn scared and incompetent @Portland that I bet every playoff team right now really wants to play Utah...

Jazz will put up a fight and then blow it at the end. NenĂª will probably end up with 30 points on about 80% shooting.

IMHO we really need to try Fesenko. Nobody will blame our coaching staff if they decide to go with the big young fella for a while since the other bigs are not doing his job defending the paint.
If you think about it, our team could go an insane distance up in the elite ladder with a big athletic imposing big... come on... the guy obviously has the tools... just throw him out there!!!
It's about time to try; I really don't want to watch the Jazz losing another big game without at least trying something else...

Nuggets have been great at building big leads, then letting them slip away in recent weeks, so even if Denver gets a solid lead, that means nothing.

I like Fes as a man defender but his help D is as bad or worse than Okur's. On the other hand, he does have 6 fouls he can use to knock some people on their ass instead of getting uncontested layups. It sounds like Sloan really got on Brewer about his defense so I'm curious as to see how Brewbrew comes out. I'm expecting a big game from him but it could be a no show.

Anyone else agree? I would be torn... you want your team to win every game, but is a chance at a more successful playoff run more important than pride? I think not. Maybe if it was the last game of the season, and you could favorably change the playoff seedings by dumping a game.

What's your plan Sloanfield? Stay in seventh and hope to play Denver in the first round?
