Players I want!

Post#1 » by carrottop12 » Fri Apr 3, 2009 9:20 pm

Just a list of players who would make the Jazz better that aren't huge name players!

Shane Battier
Ryan Gomes
Josh Boone
Nick Collison
Jared Dudley
Jeff Foster
Dan Gadzuric
Udonis Haslem
Trenton Hassell
Jarvis Hayes
Dominic McGuire
Ronald Murray
Andres Nocioni
Leon Powe
Etan Thomas
Chris Wilcox
Shelden Williams

And out of the league:

Jannero Pargo
Josh Childress

I want the Jazz to find a way to get 2 or 3 of those guys in the offseason who have some sort of idea on how to play defense, and could give the Jazz 20-25 minutes a game and really improve the Jazz.

Feel free to add your own!

I really believe that we should let Boozer walk and try to get Leon Powe, Powe & Millsap would be a good enough combo @ PF and we would save money. This is if Boozer does opt out, if not, we should trade his ass.

I would love Nocioni as our SF, forgetting Miles.
I like Jeff Foster to, he would be an upgrade in our deffensive ending.

A better back up PG is the best we can hope for. I don't see this team as having much trade flexibility.

What about a sign and trade with Detroit sending Boozer and either Miles, Almond or possibly Brewer for Rip Hamilton and Jason Maxiell. A Millsap/Maxiell combination would be better than a Millsap/Powe combo.

What better back up point are we going to be able to get for the same price and that has the exp as Knight?

Who is going to want to come here and play for a million or less and only get 8 minutes a night 12 if he is lucky?

Someone who makes the same as one of next years expiring contracts and was traded for?

just curious, but if sac came and offered noc, kevin martin and blake griffin for deron williams would that work. ignoring salary cap of course.

jazz could have

martin
noc
griffin
probably udrih too

all for deron williams.

not trying to get kicked off the board, just wondering if the entire kings team could get the best pg in the nba.

sorry, no. The Kings do not have anything that would entice the Jazz to part with Deron Williams, unless you won the draft lottery. Even then its doubtful. I do think Jerry sloan would love Kevin Martin, though. The way he gets to the free throw line as a guard is just amazing.

ya, i think u guys need a sg and sf and if boozer leaves the griffin could fill in, but it seems pointless if u guys lose williams. Personally i hope you guys meet the hornets in the playoff so williams could prove he shouldnt be the automatic #2 pg.

Powe had some nice games while KG was out like Millsap did with Boozer out, so a combo of those guys would work well IMO but this is considering we keep Memo & let Koufos play a bit so we're not severely undersized when we go to the bench.

Names?
Who is better than Brevin that is going to want to play for 13 mins (which Brevin is playing now and is slightly inflated due to Deron's injury)?
Who will you find with the experience of Brevin that has played 722 games and started 423 of them?
Are you really wanting to pay more than $2mil for a player that is only going to play 8-13 minutes a night when there are other more glaring holes in the roster?

Your list is ok but no one on there is really going to make a difference big enough to win us a championship. Here is my list of 32 that I would like to see in a Jazz uni.

(in no particular order)
Udonis Haslem
Jamario Moon
Raja Bell
Boris Diaw
Desagana Diop
Emeka Okafor
Gerald Wallace
Chris Wilcox
Wilson Chandler
Anthony Parker
Mike Miller
Ryan Gomes
Nick Collison
Marcus Camby
Chris Kaman
Louis Amundson
Spencer Hawes
Shane Battier
Hakim Warrick
James Posey
Adrew Bogut
Micael Redd
Jason Maxiell
Tayshaun Prince
Rip Hamilton
Will Bynum
Troy Murphy
Aaron Gray
Mikki Moore
Leon Powe
Trevor Ariza
Bruce Bowen

I think any of those players could improve our team at one position or another depending on who we trade. I would love to see Bell back with the Jazz, a Bell/Korver SG lineup would be killer. I think a Prince/Kirilenko combo would be interesting especially if you could keep Millsap and pick up Maxiell.

I say we need to swap Boozer for a shot blocking center. Until we do that, I don't see much improvement.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I think Chris Andersen would be a very nice fit in our roster, adding defense, hustle and shot blocking. But I don't think he's leaving Denver any time soon.
