The voice of the Jazz "Hot" Rod Hundley formerly the #1 draft pick All-American out of West Virginia, and the only remaining facet from the New Orleans Jazz is finally hanging up his sneakers, and his headset to call it a career.

Everyone who knows Jazz basketball knows and loves Hot Rod. He was a big part of my childhood and I am sure a lot of you remember him the same way. Nothing in the world better then getting Hot Rod's welcome to the Delta Center before every Jazz home game back when he was doing the Radio/TV simulcast.

A true cog in the Jazz family and the games just won't be the same with out him.

Here's to you Hots! A gentle push, and a mild arc, and the cowhide globe hits home!

thanks hot rod. you made the game come alive when you called both tv and radio together. the game on tv was so much easier to understand. you'll be missed from the game.

He is and always will be THE voice of the Jazz. His calls are iconic and have literally always been a part of my life.

Out of respect to Hot Rod I will only refer to AK as Andrei the Cat Man tonight.

Kal Korver and Carliss Boozer will miss him as well. Don't know about Jordan Farmer though...

Man its going to be so weird without him, I grew up listening to him. Its looking more and more like the end of an era with Larry going and now Hot rod...Sloan is looking like he is getting near the end also.

"Hornacek, fifteen footer, money in the bank!"

"Cross court to Blue! BLUUUUUE Edwards."

"Ar-MON GILL-iam!"

"Malone, back door to Harpring! You bet!"

"Russell. To Stockton! Stock for three! Stock, got it! Unbelievable! John Stockton! John Stockton! It's over! The Jazz win it! We're on our way... to the world championship, in Chicago!"

My favorite announcer of all time. He was a blessing that year I could only listen on the radio, because his call was so rich and specific in its visuals. I'll miss him (as I have for four years now).

I damn near cried when I heard this. Like echo1 said, it's the end of an era with Miller and Hot Rod gone, Sloan on the way out it seems.

Pretty cool of the Lakers and Laker fans to give him a standing O in his last game. Good send off for an all time great.
