2 AK Trades

Post#1 » by Racer X » Fri May 1, 2009 10:01 pm

1. AK for Shaq
2. AK and Harpring for Tracy McGrady (Locke)

I would do both. Shaq is no longer "SHAQ", but at the very least he would clog up the lane which this team never ever ever does. Steve Nash would bring out the best in Kirilenko. He would be great in that lineup.

The Jazz have never had a scorer as electric as McGrady. In Utah McGrady would have to shoulder a far lighter load than in Houston, would just need to score in tough spots for us. Would play with a great PG and a C that would spread the floor. BS's "Dork Elvis" gets a statistically great stat stuffer in AK.

I do both in a second. Sloan/Deron/Jazz just cannot get enough out of AK anymore, but I do think he can be great in the right place. I think both trades make the Jazz better.

I like the trade for Mcgrady. I think he still has something left and I like the idea of him playing with DWILL. I would also like to find a way to get Tyson Chandler for a defensive presence in the middle.

I don't think either team would want AK's contract.(Especially Phoenix)

I'm not a big fan of the idea of trading for Shaq. He's getting up there in age, he wouldn't be a great fit in our offense and he's a horrible pick and roll defender. I'm not saying he couldn't help us, but I think we can do better. I'd prefer somebody like Chandler or Camby.
I am intrigued by the possibility of acquiring T-Mac, though. There's definitely a risk involved in trading for such an injury prone player, but we could really use another guy who can create his own shot and make plays for other people so that Deron doesn't have to shoulder so much of the load. When healthy, T-Mac can still do those things at an elite level, so I'd take the risk.

I don't think there is any risk at all regarding McGrady. It's pretty safe to say that he will never play again.

I would do the shaq trade in a second, is there anyone else that would be a better leader in the lockerroom for this team? As for the TMac trade, I'm not sold. I don't think he'd come here anyways, remember when he said how much he hates the jazz fans in 08-09 playoffs? Plus, f****ing up dwills name is inexcusable

AK on the Rockets would be scary. I would just decline because of how good it would make them defensively.

Brooks-Battier-Artest-AK-Yao

would be a pretty intimidating team to play against.

Would you guys take Crawford and Maggette for him? Supposedly you guys wanted Maggette this past summer, I don't know if it's true or not.

Warriors can even throw in Brandan Wright if you don't re-sign Boozer.

Yes, but you also have to take Matt Harpring.

I honestly dont see the need to include Crawford.

Two scenarios:

AK for Maggette and Turiaf

AK for Maggette, Brandon Wright and Azubuike

I also think if Crawford opts out you might be able to not have to include Azubuike. I personally like scenario 1, I dont know if the Warriors would.

We want to keep Turiaf, he was our best shotblocker and he's signed to a good deal.

What about AK and Harpring for Maggette, Crawford and Wright?

Works in the trade checker.

I don't like maggette, and I don't think he would fit the system here at all.

As for the other two trades, I would love to have Shaq. He has the personality this team could use, and could lane defense. Plus, he creates a lot of problems for other teams, even in his old age.

TMac, I really don't like him personally, but I could see him taking this team to another level, as long as he isn't a super ball hog like he is with Houston.

You guys are nuts if you think AK for Shaq could ever possibly happen. Shaq = no empty seats, while AK = empty seats.

Neither of those trades help our payroll problems. That is what makes things so tough for us.

They would in the long term. Both of those deals expire before AK's.

Also they would work if we lost Boozer. Millsap would be much cheaper.

I would do the McGrady/AK+Harpring tradein a second, but not the Shaq trade. Getting Mcgrady for one season would really help the Jazz in the short term and the long term. He has a gigantic contract that comes off the book after next season, which will help the Jazz financially. He would also give Utah another perimeter scoring threat to play along side of Brewer and D-Will. This would be a win-now type trade. New depth chart:
PG: Deron Williams, Ronnie Price
SG: Ronnie Brewer, Kyle Korver
SF: Tracy McGrady, C.J. Miles
PF: Mehmet Okur, Paul Millsap
C: Kosta Koufos, Kyrylo Fesenko

I assume that Boozer would be gone under this scenario (he opts out and signs with another team). That would be a dynamite team, however. If Boozer does not opt out, it is likely that he will be traded. Houston is most likely looking to rid themselves of McGrady. They are playing better without him. He would be a great fit for the Jazz, however. Just think how effective the Jazz would be on offensive with the addition of a dynamic scorer like McGrady. Williams would basically become impossible to stop with a top flight scorer playing next to him. The Jazz would also improve defensively due to the insertion of Koufos into the starting lineup and the addition of McGrady's perimeter defensive ability. Koufos has scoring ability and the athleticism to protect the rim on defense.

I like this trade AK and the Knicks first rounder for Chis Boch. The jazz might also might have to include 21 pick in this years draft .This will allow the jazz to also let Boozer leave.Bosh and Williams would be the jazz foundation for building a championship team. The jazz just add role players around these 2 players.
