Boozer to NJ?

It is clear that either Boozer not opting out, or is opting out signing with Detroit outright whereby Jazz get nothing or is traded to NJ Nets. If traded to Nets, Boozer for Simmons and YI only trade that makes sense. Simmons get traded later as has valuable expiring contract. Yi plays what position for Jazz? Assuming Memo resigns, is Yi a bench player behind AK-47 and Millsap or does Millsap or AK-47 come off the bench. Seems any of the 3 would not be happy coming off the bench. If this trade happened, how do you think Yi would be used?

He wouldn't be--he is a soft 7 footer who can't shoot well. I'd rather have Ryan Anderson and their lotto pick.

If Boozer for Yi and Simmons is the best deal the Jazz can get for Boozer, then they should just let him walk. Yi and Simmons are worthless. Yi would probably not even be in the rotation if he came to Utah.

I have to agree with schneiderjazz. Unless we're getting some serious value for Boozer, which we wouldn't be in this deal, we' should just let him go and save the money. I'd consider trading AK for Simmons, one of the Nets' young big men and maybe a draft pick, though. Simmons is nowhere near as good as AK and, like AK, he's vastly overpaid. However, he's a very good three-point shooter, which we could definitely use, and his contract is one year shorter. If we could get him and a promising young player or two for AK, that would be somewhat intriguing However, Anderson is basically a poor man's Memo, Yi is a softy who'd probably refuse to play in Utah, Sean Williams has too many character issues to ever fit in here and Josh Boone, who would probably be the best fit, might be the least promising player in the group. Still, even though It's not perfect and the Nets might have to throw in another player to make it work, it's something to consider.

I totally understand where you are coming from as a Jazz fan but the Nets have no interest in AK. We are still trying to figure out what you guys would want for Boozer in a S&T. I think people have been throwing around Simmons and Yi/Anderson + future # 1, but nobody is confident that makes sense for you guys,

Fair enough. I didn't necessarily think that they were interested. Rather, I was just suggesting that that's a much more realistic and attractive possibility from a Jazz perspective. Unless you guys would be willing to trade us Lopez, which, I realize, you shouldn't and wouldn't be, the Jazz simply have no reason to trade Boozer to New Jersey. Maybe, just maybe, if the Jazz were convinced that Vince could still play at an all-star level
and fit into Sloan's system, trading Boozer for him could be something to consider. However, I'd be absolutely shocked to see VC end up in Utah and, aside from Lopez, you guys don't have anything else as valuable to the Jazz as the cap space we would get by just letting Boozer go.
