SLTrib wrote:Talked with Ronnie Brewer's agent, Henry Thomas, this morning, who shared that Brewer has been one of two dozen players invited to take part in USA Basketball's minicamp next month in Las Vegas.

It's the first step for the U.S. in preparations for the 2010 world championships and 2012 Olympics. USA Basketball director Jerry Colangelo has dedicated the minicamp to young pros not previously involved with the national team program.

Brewer is expected to be joined by Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant, Portland's Greg Oden, Chicago's Derrick Rose, Memphis' O.J. Mayo, Minnesota's Kevin Love and Blake Griffin, the expected No. 1 overall pick of the L.A. Clippers.

Really good to hear. Playing with these guys is only going to make him better, and I love to see his name in there with those guys. Very good company. Hopefully he learns a few new things.

That is really good news. Gives him some good practice time. I don't think he has the jumper to make it in international ball though.

Good. I figured he would get invited eventually. Great to hear though.

That's good. It can only serve him well for the future.

Cool. I think this will be a big boost to Brew's confidence and motivation in his game that he probably isn't getting from the Jazz.

As far as the Jazz's priority in his extention... I think solidifying the backcourt is needed before the whole frontcourt fiasco comes to a head.

A lot of people said the same thing about Wade but he showed that a slasher can be successful in the international game. I'm stoked that Brewer is getting some recognition and hope he elevates his game.
