So...Fes? Thoughts?

Post#1 » by HouseofBoozer » Sat Jun 13, 2009 6:28 am

I guess the subject says it all. I wasn't sure we could get anyone cheaper. So that may be a positive at least. I once thought he could end up being a secret weapon on defense. Not so much anymore, but who knows?

$870 k. It doesn't affect the salary cap, so it doesn't matter I guess?

He's got hops from hell for a big stiff. When he really really mature and gets on Sloans good sides he's going to be our starting center.

He needs to be consistent. 10-15 it's a kind of maximum (depends on the roster). Hopefully, he will get his condition also.

Great decision!

But by the time the season starts I doubt he will be in a Jazz uniform. He is worth way more than his dollar value, just because his salary is so low for his size and skills. If he is gone though....umm,,aaaa how can I say this... Collins will probably somehow still be around.

If he does not show up for summer league, or if he bombs it again than they should trade him for whatever they can get.

Jazz did the right thing. Fesenko upside is just ridiculous. I agree he can be Jazz starter in no time if he just make the right "mental click".
BTW, Fesenko's not coming for summer league; he's agent comments seems to state he will be playing with Ukraine...

Fes needs a lot of work, both mentally and fundamentally, but it really was a no brainer to sign him IMO.

If he would wake up and realize how to work hard he could be probably be a top 10-15 center in the league. Too bad he will never figure it out.

Please, please, PLEASE don't say that! I think I just threw up a little bit. If we have one more season with a totally worthless veteran big man I may take a hiatus from basketball for a year.

Actually I thought Collins had a decent year last year in spot minutes. Same with Harpring.

I too was surprised by how well Collins and Harpring played this year.

Fesenko has a lot of upside and I've been impressed with his man D. He really needs to work on his pick n roll defense because it absolutely atrocious right now.
