Teams 'intereseted' in Andrei Kirilenko

Post#1 » by babyjax13 » Fri Jun 19, 2009 7:02 pm

I did this with Boozer, but I decided I wanted to try it with AK too.

I personally think if we trade Boozer and give Andrei 15-18 minutes at power forward he will return to his old 15 6 3 2 and 2 days because he will be closer to the basket and able to capitalize on block opportunities, rebounding, and tip ins. He used to get at minimum 1 tip-in a game, and 2 or 3 attempts. If you assume that moving to power forward he gets that tip in, and the 2 extra rebounds his current season averages come much closer to what he should give us... 12p (+2) 5r (+2) 3a 1b 1s--so 14p 7r 3a 1b 1s. Also if he is closer to the basket with a big guy like Okur that players have to work to get their shot over them Andrei is going to have a lot more chances at altering and blocking shots.

Andrei Kirilenko
Career Stats: 13p 6r 3a 1s 2b
Best Season: 17p 8r 3a 2s 3b

I don't think that they would be traded for Kirilenko though, maybe if we included Boozer in a trade but not any other way. (I am assuming that AK is the centerpiece of any trade).

Not that I really want Ellis. I do think with enough sweetener we could get Amare for Ak + .

AK-47 staying with Jazz or traded to GSW as only Don Nelson values AK-47 skill set. Jazz can get crawford and Bellinellie. Crawford then can get traded as an expiring contract if he doesnt work out. I keep AK-47 let Boozer play AK-47 at PF and bring milsap off bench.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

It seems odd that a coach who values gunning three's and no defense would "value the skill set" of a guy who cant shoot a lick and is only known for playing defense.

There is no way that you are getting Marco Belinelli in a trade to GSW in that trade. Their fans really like him. He is young and has shown good potential. They have shot any trade for him down with almost every circumstance.

Nellie loves players who create mismatches and players who have unique skill sets that allow flexibility during games. AK was built for a free flowing offense/defense.

Nellie only cares about mismatches offensively...the guy doesnt even know defense exists.

AK was not built to jack up 3's in transition. I agree he would help them in certain areas, but for a coach who cares less about the areas AK excels I just find it odd that he would be interested in him.

Ak can run the floor with the best of them and he can dribble well for a guy his size in the open court.

Next year AK will be a 17 million dollar expiring, I think a team will be willing to give up some compensation to have a chance at trading that huge expiring for a "star" player--especially if AK fits with their team.
