Who'd have thought after screwing over Cleveland by opting out, Boozer would screw over the Jazz by opting to stay in.

So who stays out of your big men, then?

I ask for obvious reasons....

Would they really let BOTH Okur and Millsap go? That would surprise me....

Terrible news for Jazz. Likely have to sign and trade Millsap for a future round one pick. Memo hopefully stays and doesnt go to Turkey.

Jazz could try to trade Boozer but would have to take on long term contract. I say do it, I dont want Loozer on this team.

Were going to lose Millsap and keep Okur. Unless we trade someone (Boozer) Millsap is gone.

this sucks. Jazz is going to lose Millsap this season and possibly Boozer after next season. that NYK pick better pan out.

i would try trade Boozer(with extension) as soon as possible for Okafor or Haywood.

1320 has a point with bringing everyone back. If we can bring everyone back and if things are working out we can afford to pay the Lux. Tax for a year or deal people before the deadline to get under. It really depends on what Millsap gets offered and how much we offer Okur.

With Pu$$yman opting in tha Jazz suddenly have about 24+M in expiring contracts... taht's good when you remember next summer FA.... but now we probably lose Okur/Millsap/Price.... that's not good at all. You will need some curious trades by midseason tradelline to dump Boozer receiveng picks/cash/future considerations as the only return... it will be tough....

I've been advocating this move for months but it was ripped on the Trade Board. Wonder how you'd feel about it now...

Detroit Trades: Jason Maxiell ($5 mil, flat rate btw - never increases)
Utah Trades: Carlos Boozer ($12.3 mil)

Obviously it's crap value for Boozer, BUT.....

1) It shaves $7 mil off your cap, which allows you to keep both Okur AND Millsap, while giving you a serviceable player (and I think Maxiell is a perfect fit with Sloan - he'd put up nice numbers for you behind Millsap).

2) I can see Utah wanting more (like a 1st rounder or something), but it's hard to see Detroit or anybody giving that up for a guy on a 1 year contract. Part of the attraction for Detroit is it maintains our '10 flexibility. We can still look to resign Boozer if it works well, and if we not we'd have other options.

I can see Detroit maybe giving a lil more value though, like a swap of 1st rounders or a couple 2nd rounders or something. I dunno.

Z and JJ Hickson for Boozer? Would you guys be interested? Z can give you a legit 7-3 center that can block shots and step outside for a jumper...a good compliment to Milsap.

Jazz don't need Maxiell if they can bring back Millsap.

^Lol, I was about to post the same thing.

Though I'll admit that seeing these folks who have watched a lot more of Boozer than we have rip on him this way makes me want him an awful lot less....

Yeah, if we can ship him for Okafor, now is the time to do it.

I'd be willing to send him to Detroit, but maybe a 3-way involving the Clips and Camby/Kaman?

Return to Utah Jazz
