Could this Goran Sutan guy step in and provide us with Millsap level production his rookie year?

Someone scout this guy for me.

I actually think his rebounding could translate. He had a lot of big rebounding games last year which is a good sign. He's a volume rebounder. I hope he can bring that to the league if he makes the team.

I wish I knew more about this guy. Reading the draft grades posted on ESPN.com, they seem to think Suton will be playing in Europe next year. Has anyone here heard anything like this?

I think they see his name, that he's originally from the Balkans, that he was picked in the second round and they think "oh, he'll stay in Europe."

WTF? This guy was a 4-year player at Michigan State. His family moved to Michigan. He has about as much reason to go play in Europe as Jodie Meeks or Derrick Brown.

He'll bounce between the Jazz and Flash much like Koufos did last year.

I doubt he even makes the team. The summer league will give us an indication. Remember, our first sign that Millsap would be what he was came in the RMR. I dont see it with Suton, but, hey, neither did with Paul either.

I would rather have this happen with Maynor. We need a quality backup PG way more. But, I would take it from either. Not holding my breath though...

I see him more as having the potential to be the next Jarron Collins, which isn't bad as long as he isn't a starter like Jarron had to be.

Ya I think we are looking at the next Collins. Hopefully he can play the same kind of defense while rebounding and scoring better then Collins did. It should give Kosta someone solid to practice against if nothing else.

The big knock I remember hearing is he lacks an offensive game at all. But it will be interesting to see if he can find a niche.

suton is a scorer. i watched him play in college and he has a good jumpshot. he really is a shorther and thicker version of kosta

I didn't get that from any scouting report I read on him. Where did you hear that?

If anything I heard the opposite, that he's soft on defense.

He works hard on D and the boards, and he can hit the open J.

Offensively, he isn't a guy you can feed in the post.

Almost reminds me of Mehmet Okur his rookie season with Detroit.

He was a big man shooter who would hustle on D and rebounding but had a ways to go.

I watched a ton of Goran this year, as I'm a student at MSU.

He was our most important player, without a doubt.

He's a very hard worker, and a smart player. He knows what he can do, and focuses on doing it well. He's got good enough size to be an NBA center, and has a jumper with college 3 point range (though he doesn't offer wander that far out). He's got good rebounding instincts, and has some passing ability (though he's not a guy to rack up a ton of assists).

He doesn't have great athleticism, and can be overpowered or get blown by by athletic big men. He's not an awesome shot blocker, but uses his body well.

I love Goran, and I really hope he can catch on with you. The Jazz are a great situation for him to be in.

At the type of money he's going to make, he's a perfect candidate to be the Jazz' 13th man.
