Boozer for Prince?

Local Utah papers indicating that Jazz will try to trade Boozer fairly quickly for a contract 75% of his contract allowing them some extra cash to sign Millsap.
Boozer (Utah-1 year left) for Prince (Detroit-2 yrs left) makes some sense.
Detroit gets a PF which they need badly and try out Boozer for a season and if he works out sign him for long term but if not let him go and sign free with the extra cap space saved by dumping Prince.
Jazz get a good defender save some luxury tax money which makes signing Millsap alot easier. Next year Harpring comes off the books with Korver and Memo so luxury tax not a problem then either.
Jazz lineup:
PG Williams Maynor
SG Brewer Miles Korver
C Memo Kosta Fess
PF Millsap Ak-47 Kosta
SF AK-47 Korver Harpring
Much better defensive team but outside shooting not that good. Korver and Miles would need to hit open shots and Brewer needs to improve his outside shot.
In any case, nuch better than having the Loozer on the team.

I think Rip or Maxiell would be better fits unless the Jazz can dump AK47.

Well...they dont need extra cash to sign Milsap, so that makes no sense. Were not in a situation like philly was in last summer to sign Brand. We need to dump salary to not pay the tax. Secondly Detriot is getting its PF in Charlie Villanueva. If that doesnt work out maybe Utah can step in.

So you think the logical thing to do would be to sign villanueva as opposed to boozer? I would take Booze over CV any day. CV is hardly a PF I mean he is kinda like AK in that respect, a 3/4. If they can unload another contract and get Carlos then perhaps they still go for CV and have him swing between the 3 and 4.

From a Memphis fan, we'll take a one year rental of Boozer if we can't land Lee or Millsap.
Got enough cap to absorb his salary without the Jazz having to take any salaries back.

Jazz will try to trade either Boozer, Memo, AK-47, Harpring, and/or Miles for a contract 25% cheaper even if new player has 2-3 left on contract to avoid luxury tax. Why would you want to pay dollar for dollar luxury tax, even if only one year, when your team is clearly not a championship contender and attendance is down? Simply, Mller family not that rich and in a small market. See problem with N.O. as they have same problem.
AK-47 impossible to trade unless u want someone like Randolf of LAC
Boozer and Memo tradeable but someone like Prince best deal i could figure out.
Trading Harpring expiring contract possible.
Trading Miles makes alot of sense but who wants him. Okla city not an available trade partner. Jazz should have never natched his contract.

I don't give a crap if they pay the tax for a year.
I have given them a boat load of my cash over the years on exorbitantly priced Crap from hats to hot dogs.
They can pony up for a year and put a great product on the floor.

I doubt Detroit will give up a versatile SF in Prince for Boozer on a one-year rental. I would think Boozer will have to be resigned first...to a reasonable contract.

If the Ben Gordon to Detroit rumor is true, Rip Hamilton would be the odd man out...

That would be a great trade for Detroit, because as much as Prince has struggled against Lebron (overpowering him) he's been one of the best 2 or 3 in the entire NBA in guarding Kobe over the last 5 years.
That said, doesn't make sense for Detroit. If they wanted Boozer they could have paid him $75-$80 million over 5 years and kept Prince...
Prince is too much to give up for a one year rental on Boozer before he gets a huge deal.
RIP or Max are not too much to give up.

I've always liked the Boozer+Miles/Korver for Rip+Max. We clear up a spot so it's easier to get guys there minutes and we still have a solid PF rotation. Of course I don't want to hinder Fesenko/Koufos' development but I think there will still be time for them behind Okur.

No Maxiell, not that contract....ugh. I'd rather take Kwame Brown and some other incentive (cash?).

What if we did a deal similar to Denver trading Camby? Trade Boozer to Memphis for a future first and then sign Millsap for $10 million/year. It's as if we are trading Boozer for Millsap and a 1st.
I don't know the regulations on something like this, but I think it's worth it to save Millsap rather than rent Boozer for a year. Plus a first from Memphis wouldn't be half bad, and we potentially avoid the luxury all together.

That's a decent idea in principal, but Memphis has been pretty against spending too much money, and Boozer is 5 years older than their key players so in a couple of years they will have another hole at power forward. Maybe OKC or Toronto does it? I still like a trade with New Jersey of Boozer for Simmons+picks. Maybe New Jersey and Dallas' 1st round picks for next year.

They also got CV, I think that hurts our chances of sending them Booze for Rip. Maybe a three way trade could happen.

What it does do though is make them crowded at the 2/3 position. I think Rip or Prince has to be available.
