it's going to be a weird season..I see phx/hou both going downhill bad with injuries and departures..
still LA has to deal with Ariza/Odom right? They could lose both.

If they lose both I'm not worried. Artest is a chucker. Great when he wants to post up but loves to shoot the perimeter J's too much. Gets hot sometimes but besides, if he wants to post up then we have anti-Artest Matt Harpring...if Sloan decides to use him.
Check the stats, FG as good as 3 PT last season:
FG: .401
3FG: .399
Playoffs:
FG: .394
3FG: .277
Ariza looks to be gone, if they don't sign Odom I'll be thrilled.

HOWEVA, look at how well Brown and Ariza shot for them in the playoffs, and Fisher's FG% went way up his first year back with LA. Never know.

This is going to be a strange season. The Jazz could honestly get worse this year by losing Millsap, and leap frog New Orleans and Houston in the standings.

The worse are getting worse, the good are getting better and the Jazz....who knows?

Marxist. Regardless the Jazz don't stand a chance with out a trade.

Artest is gonna be signed for the full MLE. Ariza is obviously gone. If the Lakers also let Odom go (BTW, I have no idea why no one is trying to go after him, the guy is a baller), they're IMO a worse team than last year.
Odom+Ariza >> Artest
If Odom stays however, damn.

I hate stupid bitch players who sign for cheaper to play for a contender, they couldn't get it done as a star so now they have to be someones bitch to even have a sniff at a ring, **** off artest im kinda glad i can go back to hating your ass.

This offseason is looking more and more like last offseason... good and very good teams getting better... Jazz doing nothing....
Ok... let's stop the whining.... right now, to think on our offseason around Millsap, doesn't seem to be the answer... Unless Paul accept a contract actually related with the skill set he brings into the table (something like MLE starting money)... well....
Now more than ever we need a wing that take our backcourt to another level, more than ever Boozer/Millsap is not enough frontcourt contribution, more than ever we need to get big guys real contributions...

who got better last year? Lakers? by adding who? Powell? Rockets with Artest okay thats one, Spurs? no, Suns? no, Hornets? Posey? that worked out not. People have to look at the big picture here right now.
Is artest>Odom and Ariza and maybe even brown?
I say no.

Last year the good teams dropped (Spurs, Jazz, Hornets) and the bad/middle teams improved drastically (Denver, Dallas, Portland). This year its like the opposite...good teams getting better (Spurs, Lakers, Jazz) and the bad and middle teams getting worse (Suns, Hornets, Mavs).
After listening to Locke on 1320kfan...I dunno how much better Artest makes the Lakers...at least on the offensive end it sounds like he will really hurt them. His defense and toughness is going to be what improves them but Ariza brought the same kind of stuff...should be interesting.

artest is a better man defender, ariza is far better off ball. Artest is also a headcase.

Lakers will re-sign Odom. It'll be tough for anybody else in the West (except maybe San Antonio) to give Lakers a good run. Honestly, who can compare to a front court of Gasol/Bynum/Odom/Artest? That's ridiculous no matter what way you look at it.
