If you like Lee and don't want the Lux tax why not do a sign and trade with NY for Lee" they get Boozer who is an expiring. Only prob I see is that SLC has NY's pick and they might think trading Boozer would help NY to more wins. Besides that it sees a fair deal if SLC likes Lee about the same as Milsap.

I guess it's possible, but I just don't envision the Jazz letting Millsap go in order to do a sign-and-trade for Lee.
1) I think the Jazz like Millsap more than Lee
2) Millsap would still likely be cheaper than Lee
3) As you alluded to, if the Jazz do this deal they help NY AND Portland.

I think the key is whether SLC can trade Boozer AND get cap relief, if they can't then acquiring a long term solution at PF and not paying the big time Lux taxes with Milsap's first year might make this trade attractive. Just a thought and alternative.

trade makes sense and Jazz let Millsap leave as well BUT Jazz would be a pretty white team.

....ugh. The whole point in the Jazz trading Boozer is to get his $$$ of the cap and thus avoid paying luxury tax.
If we want to pay the tax this year, we just keep Boozer and let him play.
Pretty f*ckin simple.

If you are looking for cap relief, why not do a Ben Wallace for Carlos Boozer trade?
Jazz need relief....Suns need rebounding....and the Suns medical staff could fix Booze

Right now the Jazz are a few million over the tax threshold. If the Jazz want to be a considerable luxury tax payer, they must attempt to field a contender.
They can't do this by having all their talent in the front court. So if Boozer is to be traded salary for salary, it has to be for an upgrade at their main weakness (SG). So getting back a talented SG (or a combo guard) is the only option should they go this route.
