Jazz/NYK Rumor

NYK want Boozer so there is a rumor of a sign and trade of David Lee for Boozer. David Lee would sign for approxamitely 75% of Boozer's contract (like 9 million/year). Jazz can then let Millsap go and not ahve to take out a loan as no toxic portion of the contract would exist. Of course, this means David Lee would want to sign with the Jazz BUT he really has no takers rigth now.

Jazz Lineup:

PG Williams Maynor Kruger (or Price)
SG Brewer Korver
C Memo Kosta Fess Collins
PF Lee Ak-47 Kosta Collins
SF Miles Ak-47 Korver Harpring

Is this team better? I would say about the same. Better defensively but loses low post scoring. I think it wins 50-52 games because Lee hustles more than Boozer. The key to team would be the development of Miles/Brewer.

***Trade makes sense and saves Jazz money. Knicks stay competitive next year still leaving plenty of cap space in 2010 for Wade/Bosh etc. If they resigned David Lee they would not have the cap space for these stars in 2010. Jazz save money and find good replacement for Boozer without luxury tax complications. ONLY PROBLEM IS WILL BOOZER MAKE KNICKS THAT MUCH BETTER AFFECTING PICK IN 2010. Id say no because I really believe overall Lee > Loozer (worst defender in league).

Everybody is going to yell at you about not making NY better because of the pick.

What about an OKC/NYK/Utah three-way deal?

Boozer goes to NY, Lee is signed and traded to OKC, OKC gives Jazz 2010 #1 pick.

I think NY would need to give up something else so their incoming/outgoing salaries are in range, but in principle this deal seems to be more likely than straight up Boozer to NY or Boozer to OKC.

Jazz clear cap space, NY gets an expiring deal, OKC gets a PF they were rumored to be targeting, and the Jazz get another #1 pick in next year's draft (which should ease some of the concerns that Boozer would lessen the value of that NY pick).

What do you think?

Well, the Jazz want Lebron so there is a rumor of an extension for Lebron and then he gets traded to Utah..........

Just because the New York Postabloid says the Knicks want Boozer doesnt mean there is a trade negotiation out there. Seriously Toledo, where do you come up with this stuff?????? The Jazz have absolutely nothing to gain by giving Boozer away to the Knicks and making them a possible playoff team for 2010. Why on earth would the Jazz even consider trade negotiations with the Knicks this year?

Oh, and David Lee will not make our team better.

With the team wanting to stay away from the luxury tax it might not be that crazy of an idea.

He sees these great ideas in his bowl of lucky charms every morning.

Happy, why wouldn't OKC just sign Lee to an offer sheet, thus not give up anything in return?

Or in the turd soup lurking behind the sphincter window he pushes his head through every morning before getting out of bed.

Seriously, why would the Jazz do this? Millsap is just as good as David Lee, so in essence we're offering Boozer to a team who is bound to give us their unprotected #1 pick in order to avoid paying an accellerated signing bonus?

Honestly, Toledo, are you just D2nd or King Everything and you're just testing the limits of the posters here before we find you and tie you to a stop sign somewhere in the deep South with a WHITE POWER t-shirt over your head? At what point does this idiocy get checked by the moderators whose job it is to protect this space from things like this?

I am amazed what you guys think the Jazz can get for Boozer. No team going to give up alot. A David Lee or Maggette type player is the Jazz best case scenario in this financial fiasco.

Jazz keep a disgruntled Boozer then it will be a wasted season.

It is as simple as that.

And Im amazed that you think Utah would make NYK get better on the eve of getting their lottery pick.

Disgruntled or not, if we keep him he will play his ass off because he has no choice. If he produces huge numbers, he will be getting the big contract he wants, if he doesn't, he's looking at Millsap money. You think that motivation enough? I do.

I do the Lee for Boozer deal in a heartbeat. I'm not investing my future in a pick that could possibly be in the 10-20 range, no way at all. Besides, who looks like a franchise player at this point coming out that makes you so wet for that pick?

Good point. I guess doing the trade would take the uncertainty out of the RFA business... and maybe they get another piece from New York as part of the trade.

I don't think the point was ever to "invest" in the pick, but it's like the Blazers. They didn't want to help us out with a trade, by investing in their backcourt. If there is direct value to what you are doing, you don't diminish it by making your competitor better.

Its been a while since I stopped reading Holytoledo's posts. They are always the same.

I enjoy reading the reply ones about his posts. They are always cool and funny.

But this time I read his post (after skipping it and reading the replies). Its so absurd. He tell us about a "rumor" that he's the only one knowing it. And at the end (after a long explanation), HE SAYS NO TO HIS OWN RUMOR !!!

Men, I dont know what to say about it
