Bulls writer, via Espn Scoop Jackson, set out a rumored deal where Jazz make out like bandits.

Bulls get Boozer
Rockets get Tyrus Thomas & Jerome James
Jazz get Battier & Carl Landry

Jazz lineup:

PG Williams Price Maynor
SG Brewer Korver Miles Price
C Memo Kosta Fess
PF Millsap Landry AK-47
SF Battier AK-47 Korver Miles Harpring

Jazz: Make out like Bandits (even leave out Landry and Im ok with it)
Bulls: Get Loozer for basically Thomas and they do it
Rockets: Only makes sense if they a rebuilding giving up on the season bc of Yao's injury. They try out Thomas and get rid of gurantee contracts to hit 2010 free agent class hard. I would think they would want more to have this deal get done. Im a sure they would ask for NYK #1 pick, Brewer, or Kosta. I might be willing to add Kosta to get this deal done even though it would leave Jazz thin at center position.

Rockets need a draft pick or something. Either that or switch out Landry for Hayes.

I'd give up Fes. Not Kosta.

You could make it Hayes as far as I care.

A new version of it just out on twitter:

Fess/Thomas to Houston
Landry/Battier/James to Utah
Boozer to Chicago

http://twitter.com/SportsUnplugged

I ws surprised it did work under the trade checker as I thought Jazz taking in too much salary. James contract covered by insurance so if he is unable to play Jazz have insurance pay his contract.

I have heard conflict reports about James's contract. Some say it is covered by insurance and some say it isn't. But in either case it counts against the salary cap and luxury tax. So we don't want it.

And Houston is giving up too much.

Wouldn't mind this deal at all, though it does nothing for us to get under the tax. I'm all for it if the Jazz will bankroll it.

I would think it would mean taht they have a plan in place to dump AK for salary relief.

New update here.

Source: "Talks are impending on hourly basis, though, one Personnel(L.Alexander) would rather have the opportunity to buyout Jerome James."

Apparently Houston is trying to find out if they can buy him out.

The writer is never taken seriously by Chicago fans. Chances are good that Boozer will be traded, but I'll wait until a credible source comes up with a trade scenario before I believe it.

An interesting tidbit from Smith's article:

The Jazz long have had interest in Hinrich and it's little known—and likely denied by all—that when Deron Williams was struggling as a rookie the Jazz made inquires about trading him, including to the Bulls for Hinrich.

Sam Smith is worse than Peter Vescey. Smith was interviewed here in Portland while everyone was in Vegas for Summer League. Smith FLAT OUT ADMITTED that he makes up trade ideas and posts them in his blog as tho they're rumors. He says he does so to "help" GM's discuss deals that he thinks would help both teams.

I'd do this deal. Saves Jazz A TON of money.

Bulls make out way to well on this deal. Jazz make out ok. Makes no sense for the Rockets unless they get a future #1 from Bulls.

What in the world do you do with Shane Battier? Landry is seriously injured, as I recall, and won't even be able to walk until late next season. Just a silly proposal.

really? Did you just really ask what in the world do you do with Battier? sigh...

The funniest part is you think its silly from the Jazz prospective.

The Bulls get Battier and Boozer for Thomas?! Seems like bull to me, anyway. We should get Thomas and Hinrick if we trade Boozer. We may have gotten tired of his bs, but he's still one of the best PF in the league; let's not forget that, and if the Bulls got him for those two they would be one of the top 5 teams in basketball.

Battier is one of those players i've ALWAYS ALWAYS wanted on the Jazz.
