Boozer to NJ idea

Post#1 » by lurkingobeiscity » Tue Jul 21, 2009 3:21 am

Yi, Dooling, Hayes, Simmons, 2010 lottery protected 1st

for

Boozer, Harpring, Korver

*Dooling or Hayes could be sent to a 3rd team with a TE if Utah prefers. (Or something like a Dooling/Buckner swap with Dallas)

Utah saves $4,099,669 (double that with the lux tax in mind).

I think Yi for another two years is better for the Jazz's situation than getting Tyrus Thomas who would need an extension at the end of the year. The Jazz also get a first rounder and three quality veterans, all of which are good to great shooters and two of which are excellent defenders (Dooling PG/SG, Hayes SG/SF).

No thanks. Yi does nothing for me, neither do those other guys.

There are far easier ways for the Jazz to trim $4M.

Yeah the Jazz would have to be nuts to do this.

I do think that New Jersey is one of the most logical destinations for Boozer. Tony Battie and his expiring contract would save the Jazz $12 million total this season if the Nets could find a third team to drop an additional contract to. It's really starting to look like Miami and Chicago aren't going to happen, at least to me.

Dallas still has Greg Buckner, so if the Nets were to acquire Boozer I wouldn't be against swinging a Jarvis Hayes and Sean Williams to Dallas in order to send Buckner and his unguarnateed contract to Utah...
