Jrich is awful compared to AK-47 with almost as bad a contract. Amare is a 1 year rental that is the same as Boozer. Unless there was an extension agreement I don't even look at this deal. Also we have no center with this line up.

Unlike most people I like J-Rich but his contract is horrible and Amare would be no better then Boozer for us. I'll pass.

Amare is 10 times better than Boozer, in almost every respect.
I would much rather have Richardsons on the court contribution compared to what AK has given the last few years as well....honestly the Jazz make out like bandits talent-wise in this deal, but I dont know the details of Richardsons contract.
Otherwise, I would do this in a heartbeat......and by the way, we have Okur as our center still.

Jazz do it BUT no way Suns do it as they get nothing out of this deal. Throw in Knicks pick then Suns might consider it. Jazz do it in a second!!!

i suggested this deal like a week ago and got really no responses. I'd do it, Amare is one of the most talented offensive players in the game. Also he is a shot blocking presence, he actually tries to block shots and he actually can do it. Jrich would be interesting with utah but since were trading a bad contract for him its not too bad to me. He could be a great 6th man or he could even start on paper a lineup of Deron,Jrich,Brewer,Amare,Okur looks mighty fine and hell you could mix it up and throw millsap in at the 3 if you wanted.

wow, a trade involving Boozer in which our defense actually gets worse.

So he sucks at man defense, if boozer was a good weakside shot blocker would we bash him as much? no. Amare is that. amare can still do the crouch pivot that boozer does.

To me shot blocking is often an overrated statistic. Solid, man defense prevents more baskets than weak side blocks ever will, but gets less credit because there's no stat to measure it.
Anyway, I'm not saying Boozer > Amare. Amare isn't as injury prone, is a SLIGHTLY better defender and doesn't miss 1/3 of his games.
What I am saying is that Richardson/Amare < AK47/Boozer defensively.

I'm not going to defend Boozer, that's for sure. I'm done with that, however your actually wrong on that quote. I did the math, and there is a lot of irony in this. Both players have been in the league for seven years, with a total of 574 possible regular season games to play, you'll be surprised at the results:
Boozer - Total games played: 432 - 75.2% - -2 games
Stoudamire - Total games played: 434 - 75.6% - +2 games
So basically, it's a wash for which one is healthier and/or available to play. Both players are disgruntled with their teams. Both players can't play defense. So Boozer for Stoudamire might get you flashier dunks, but you lose rebounding. Amare has a higher career scoring average, but he was a starter from the get-go whereas Boozer had to become the starter and get the touches. You lose in rebounding with Stoudamire also, and quite frankly, Boozer is one of the best rebounding PF's in the league. Their past few seasons are more indicative to what you would get out of them.

That's pretty interesting. Yet one more reason I wouldn't do this trade, I guess.
