Karl Malone?

When Malone came into the league he was a freak athlete and good rebounder. He was also a guy that had a lot of work to do with his offensive game, poor FT shooter etc. and they were the same number .

Griffin reminds me of a young Malone. Not saying he will ever be as good, but I see a lot of similarities.

I see the similarity- and more than any player coming out of college in years, since Deron Williams actually, Griffin is a player I would love to see join the Jazz. Obviously, 30 other teams would feel the same way, but the Clips aren't THAT dumb...

Griffin will be saddled with expectations early which Malone didn't really have to deal with. He will also be playing against stronger, higher caliber athletes. Malone's combination of size, speed and skill was unique when he started his career; Griffin is special, but there are a lot of talented, big athletes in the NBA now. I'll definitely keep an eye on his development and imagine he'll adjust to the NBA quickly- but I doubt he'll average 20+ in his second season, as did Malone.

I was not a huge Blake Griffin fan out of college but summer league proved he has alot of skills. He wont be nearly as good as Karl Malone but he may be a regular Allstar player. He reminds most as Wayman Tisadale but only better because he is stronger and mroe Atlethic.

Malone is arguably the best PF of all-time. You have really high expectations for Griffin.

Its just a prediction...nobody thought Malone would turn out half as well as he did.

Griffin will have to get away from the Clippers is he's going to have any hope of reaching his potential (whatever that may be). That franchise has a talent for turning gold into poo.

Borderline all star for years but he isn't Karl Malone by far. Malone was a tough SOB.

Somewhere between Boozer and Bosh is probably his ceiling.

Your insane if you think Griffin will be the next Malone. Boozer/Bosh ceiling sounds about right.

Its his athleticism that reminds me of a young Malone and I think Amare is a better comparison. He does nothing to remind me of Bosh. His rebounding reminds me of Boozer, but he actually makes an effort on D. Again this is all speculation, but I see young Malone in this guy. Whether he becomes full, half or a fourth of that is up to him. Im just a little surprised nobody else sees that. Malone was a freak athlete at PF. Griffin will be one as well. Will see if he develops a back to the basket or follow suit with the rest of the league and develop a face up game.
