Okafor for Chandler Done

Straight up deal chandler for okafor is done.
Reason Bobcats did it because it was money situation where they get rid of Okafor long term contract for a shorter contract as the TEAM IS FOR SALE. Trade made no sense until that was found out. Teams for sale have less value when they have long term contracts thereon.
Hornets made a Basketball trade. Surprising trade by them as I believe they took out a league loan earlier this year. They are a better team now and near contender.
So Jazz left out in the cold in this deal!!! Lots of other fans wondered as well why didnt their teams get involved to get Okafor. So Jazz fans and other teams' fans scratching their heads why their teams didnt go after Okafor. The simple answer is some GMs are not that brillant and bad negotiators. Is Jordan/Rod Higgins the new Isiah of the league?

honestly i dont see okafor as being a huge upgrade over chandler. chandler has 4 inches on okafor and the cp3 lob to chandler was bread and butter.
okafor has better numbers and is younger, it'll be interesting to see how the hornets manage him and david west together.

Well those are 2 more guys that I wouldnt have minded seeing in a Jazz uniform off the market.

Bobcats stating they like that Chandler bc he plays PF & Center (like Okafor cannot?) and he has shorter cheaper contract. They may not have wanted Boozer bc he cant play center.
Funny thing is if Memo had NOT signed extension, I am sure they would have preferred Memo's one year contract. Memo or Okafor that would be a tough decision for me as I am a huge Memo fan.

It makes me wonder if Charlotte would now be interested in a Chandler for Boozer swap. It would save them an additional year off of Chandler's deal. Thats a deal I would do as a Jazz GM, because Chandler would fill a glaring weakness for us without Crippling us in the long term.
I also wonder if David West is going to be on the block as a result.

Give it about a zero % chance on both. Otherwise why not make it a 3 team deal. West is not available.
I do however think that Charlotte might have interest in Boozer. I went on record as saying I thought the bobcats were the dark horse for Boozer.
If theyre trying to lower their future payroll I dont see why Utah and the Cats cant have discussions about a Boozer for Gerald Wallace deal.
Larry Brown and KOC have a relationship and I see mutual interest.
Brown gets his true PF and puts together a very good rebounding frontcourt. They save salary.
Jazz get another scorer. Starting SF/hybrid PF that can guard the odom types. He has a very reasonable contract too.
The trade would need to include a filler, which would likely be Dontrell Jefferson. Although I wouldnt mind swapping Fes for Ajinca.

Chandler cant be traded again to end of September which is ok I guess.
Chandler/Mohamed for Boozer/Harpring/Miles/Fess works under the cap and saves Jazz luxury tax this year while getting Bobcats expiring contracts which they want badly. They also have Diop to play center.
You would think that if they or KOC were interested in making a deal for Boozer it would have simply been a 3-team trade. So Chandler to Utah is very unlikely to happen.

Okafur had too big of contract for the Jazz after the extensions were signed and matching Millsap. Although I would love to see a Boozer for Wallace deal.

As soon as we re-signed Okur there was NO chance we would try and pick up Okafur. Too bad a combo of Okafur/boozer, or Okafur/millsap would have been interesting

We should trade for David West now or Gerald Wallace. I don't care how implausible it is just do it.

Get Crash KOC. A defensive hustling SF/PF we would have an incredibly diverse team. Go small and quick with Dwill/Brewer/Wallace/AK/Koufos. Traditional with Dwill/Brewer/Wallace/Millsap/Okur. We also keep our depth and have AK and Wallace to back-up Millsap.

Wallace would really just duplicate a lot of what Brewer does (and be better at it, but still).

Wallace can shoot the three. Brewer with a three point shot helps us a lot because our three points threat as of now are all defensive liabilities.
