This may be the ultimate INSULT to Boozer

"The hottest Carlos Boozer tale to blip onto the radar this week: Sources say Memphis had the option of trading for Boozer instead of Zach Randolph earlier this month.

Yet the Grizz decided, apparently with considerable input from coach Lionel Hollins, that Boozer would have been less than thrilled to play out the final season of his contract in Graceland, thus convincing them that Randolph -- starting over for the third time -- would be more productive.

As difficult as it remains for many league observers to digest the idea that Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley felt he could no longer afford Pau Gasol but now is willing to give the combustible Randolph some $33 million over the next two seasons, there's little doubt that Randolph will feature hugely for the Grizz next season.

Given how far away Hasheem Thabeet looked in summer league, Memphis needs a big man who can shoulder a big load. Perhaps Thabeet will be presented as a starter for the Grizz, since he's the No. 2 overall pick, but they will have to put him third on the crunch-time depth chart behind Randolph and Marc Gasol. At best."

They will be paying much more over the term of this contract and they still would have rather had Randolph. Boozer needs to recognize that it's a gift to play in the NBA or any professional sport. He has not helped anyone on this, not himself, not the Jazz, not anyone. He has come off as a weak malcontent who thinks more highly of himself than he ought to. Hope this one stings Boozey!

I was gonna post something similar, but I don't think it's cause they thought Randolph better, the article itself says its cause they thought Boozer wouldn't wanna play in Memphis...

You have to wonder if any of this has come from Boozers insistence on getting traded to CHI and MIA...Ultimately he probably hurt himself and devalued his stock by doing this and he'll probably have to start the season in Utah because of it.

Insult to Boozer or insult to the Grizzlies?

To Booze... It effectually says one of the lamest cancers is preferred at more money than Booze. From a fiscal stand point it makes no sense. From the standpoint of production, it's a contract year for Booze, so I think he'll perform wherever. I don't think it was that well thought out other than it sounds like they think ZBo has more heart than Booze.

You guys know that I hate Boozer more than anyone BUT Grizz to trade for Randolph was idiotic and they are rebuilding so Boozer made no sense either. So Memphis GM has no clue what he is doing and doesnt reflect on anything except Memphis GM is an idiot.

Is his lunchbox where he stores those 3-point airballs?

Z-Bo would never waste lunchbox space with 3-point airballs. He needs it for his family size bag of doritos.

Thanks God for Boozer and him talking trash in the media... this might have saved us from a cat like Zach! Not that I see the Jazz ever making this trade.

read that again... We wouldn't have gotten Zach.

What did the Grizz give up to get Zach. I can't remember?

Seriously... this is a huge slap in Boozer's face not that he cares. A team would much rather pay Zach that money than Boozer for cheaper and shorter. It really would've been a ton more benefical for the Grizz to get a player and contract like Boozer than Zach.

Um...fail.

Post the rest of the article, the part where Michael Heisley pimps the job he and his staff have done "rebuilding" the team.

This story does nothing but reflect how much of a joke this team is, as if that point needed to be made any more than it already has. No one understands why the Grizzlies were willing to take Zach on, and now with the news that they could have had Boozer and turned him down in favor of the biggest cancer in the league we know that Chris Wallace is indeed the biggest incompetent buffoon to run a team in league history....well, at least the portion of league history that doesn't include Isaiah Thomas.

I'm not sold on this. They probably didn't take Boozer, because the Jazz wanted more value than Q-Rich in return. If the Jazz wanted nothing but cap space, I'm sure the Grizzlies would rather have Boozer. Or maybe not. Their GM might be that stupid.

The ultimate Insult to Boozer will be at the end of the 2009/2010 season, when he is a free agent, when he only offered a mmid-level exception for only 2 years.! Karma!!!
