Utah and Chicago ... Here's the Deal

There are myriad considerations in putting together a blockbuster, but the bottom line is will both teams like their teams better and will everything work out financially. This deal flies, at least on realgm.

From Utah to Chicago: Boozer, Kirilenko, and Brewer.
From Chicago to Utah: Deng, Salmons, Tyrus Thomas, and Jerome James.

Basically, three key starters change uniforms with the following result:

Chicago lineup: Rose, Brewer, Kirilenko, Boozer and Noah, with Hinrich and Pargo off the bench in the backcourt and Miller, T. Thomas, and the rookie Johnson off the bench in the frontcourt. If I'm Chicago, I like this team better than the team I'm giving up.

Utah lineup: DWilliams, Salmons, Deng, Millsap and Okur, with Korver, Miles and Price off the bench in the backcourt and Tyrus Thomas, Koufos, etc. in the frontcourt. I like the look of Utah better also, and the deal helps them financially.

Is everyone a winner or not? You tell me.

AHH! No no no, just stop!

Why does everyone want to unload our all-star PF? Dude is going to dominate this year to get his contract.... If we don't have chemistry and/or aren't in legit contention at deadline he will be gone. Grass is always greener... stop trading all our good players!

How about skipping the part with Brewer and AK? Just send Boozer and take back Deng, or Salmons and James (save some money)?

You're suggesting a 7-player trade in which 6 of the 7 players are rotation regulars averaging at least 24 minutes/game? I'm no ELIAS sports bureau but I have to think such trades are very rare.

Pretty sure we don't want Deng. Damn sure I don't want to trade Brewer.

Nitpicking aside, do you like your team better or not?

Yikes, Jazz give up the two best players in the trade, and three starters.

I really don't like this deal for the Jazz, but I don't know if the Bulls would do this either. If we have problems with AK and Brewer on the wings playing with Deron, can you imagine Rose, AK and Brewer? Teams would just pack the paint and let the Bulls shoot all night long. It wouldn't be pretty. Although they get so much more talent back, they probably would pul the trigger. Easy no from the Jazz IMO.

Easy no for the Jazz? The Jazz are looking to improve at the wing and with interior defense. Salmons gives them the perimeter scoring and Thomas the athletic shotblocker around the basket. Deng is just a solid all around performer that would be a solid second or third scoring option for years. The Jazz would also save money. Again, DWill at the one with Price behind him, Salmons and Korver at the 2/3, Deng at the three, Millsap, Okur and Tyrus Thomas up front. Miles in reserve also. An easy no? Jazz fans would be full of joy and hope going into the season with that roster. Thing is, the Bulls would also be excited I think.

We would likely loose Salmons next year - I like Deng, but he is seen as a negative value around the NBA because of his injuries.

The Jazz would be lucky to get that trade. I like it, Driveway.

The love affair with Brewer is cute, but Salmons and Deng would actually compliment Deron on the perimeter.

Bulls don't want AK or Brewer.
