Deron wants Boozer out?

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Thu Sep 3, 2009 3:26 pm

Deron in an interview with Rome indicates that there is time for a Boozer deal and he can play with players he doesnt like. It doesnt sound to be like he wants him around. Boozer has to go chemistry going to be an issue if Boozer stays for start of camp.

He didn't say that. He said he'll play with Boozer despite his comments, since he wants to win and he knows Boozer can help him with that. Although it seems this situation with Boozer might become a huge distraction during the season. Honestly, right now, I wouldn't care if Boozer got traded to save money, as long as we get a 2010 first rounder. With 2 picks in the draft, we probably could move up even if the Knicks pick doesn't turn out to be that great and grab a player who'll be a difference maker. Plus I wouldn't mind giving Kosta more playing time at C and AK at PF.

+1

I didn't get the feeling Deron cares one way or the other--besides feeling bad that he hasn't got a deal worked out if that is what he really wants. CJ basically said the same thing in a radio interview a while back. When they show up to play, they just play. Nobody is going to worry about who wants to play where, contract negotiations, whatever. They all just want to win.

What I take from both Deron's statements and CJ's is that Boozer won't be a NEGATIVE chemistry factor, but he's not a POSITIVE one either.

That may not matter very much in the end, but I'd rather have a team full of positive chemistry guys.

Listening to the interview with DW8, i got the feeling Williams and Boozer are no longer, if they ever really were with Boozer's aloof nature, buddies. His comment about regardless if you get along with or like someone off the court you have to get along with them on it, is very telling in my opinion.

I know for sure the team on the court is better with Boozer on it than not, cuz like Deron said there are few players in the league that can do what he can do on the court offensively. But if that chemistry can't come back and quickly because Boozer basically came out and whored himself to everyone and basically in not so many words said he would rather play with anyone but D-Will (really, Derrick Rose) i wouldn't be overly shocked if Deron went to the front office and tried to help push Boozer out the door.

Beginning with his obvious vote of confidence for Millsap after the season and lack of one for Boozer I truly believe that Williams wouldn't be overly, if at all, upset to never have another assist to Booze.

All that being said, they must likely will have to co-exist on the court for the Jazz to have their best shot this year.

i dont think chemistry will be a prob as long as boozer ISNT a team captain. hard to follow a teammate who doesnt/didnt want to be on the team. other than that, he would be/is a great pf to have.

I'd like Memo to be co-captain with Dwill. They seem to be the leaders this offseason.

If we're winning then everything will be fine, if we go through rocky patches of not doing to well this will be a hindrance, I can see a team without Booz on sticking together throughout, with Booz I dunno, I can just see it all self destructing

Normally I would agree except the majority of our plays are run through Boozers position. On top of that Boozer will probably see more touches than ever so that the Jazz can showcase him more and increase his value. So I could see it being an issue. On the same hand I'm confident that if the chemistry costs us valuable wins then the front office will settle to move him for less than they want or bring him in off the bench.

Probably just a poor choice of words. A non-issue.

I leave for a couple of months, come back and the same **** is happening. How many different "I hate Boozer" threads have to be created before one of them gets locked?

I think all the guys are pissed wih Booz, but will play hard, and if Booz plays hard and makes a winning team things will be ok.

I do think Deron's words were true though. Maybe it's personal, maybe it's just the trade love that irked him. Do doubt Deron believes in Paul and wants to make him an All-Star.

Well I don't know if he wants Boozer gone but the new article sure makes it pretty clear he wants something changed.

The wiretap brought up some kind of sort of new questions, thank God we have Toledo to make a new thread about it.

Who gives a rats a$$ what Deron wants! His last name isn't Miller and he doesn't own this team. It ain't O'Conner either and he doesn't hire players. Whats more, Sloan will choose the people he wants on the floor.

You people bagg on Boozer for jacking his jaws, yet You talk about Deron as if he was some kind of diety. Get off it!!......He wasn't hired to make policy or offer his opinion..... He needs to quit flapping his lips and just play ball.

Deron is the team leader and if the Miller's or O'Connor had a problem they'd say something to him.

My guess is, they already have!!...............And if Williams doesn't change his attitude, he'll "lead" this team all the way to the basement!!

I think you underestimate the pull Deron has on this team, even when it comes to FO decisions. Even if they're not directly soliciting his input (they probably are) they're making sure they're doing things to make him happy to be here. He's who this franchise revolves around. He's the guy they feel they need to keep no matter what.
