Surprising picks considering Isiah and Stockton's history. And Sloan's pick just caught me off guard.

Barkley is always giving love to Sloan on TNT, I love his choice. It's original and unexpected, like MJ's choice.
Apparently you have to pick a current HOF'er to induct you, so Stockton couldn't have chosen Malone.

I love Barkley for Sloan...but personally Ive always hated Isiah. I guess if John says he is cool then I am going to have to learn to like him...can't question John.

Stockton and Sloan show how special they are.
I hope Malone choses Stockton next year.... It would be the last Stockton to Malone.

John was so amazing. So personable. He really showed such a human side that he was too focused (I will say) to show. Maybe he has just been away too long. He could have been an outspoken leader. Jerry was so heart felt. Definatle more his style. You know he has a great heart. He showed it. Every other inductee was great too. John stole the show. He had the best speech out of all 5.

so what did the presenters do besides standing off to the side? wish i could have seen why they were such a big deal.
but, a cool show. i agree stockton was the best speech. most fun to listen to. i was very impressed by all candidates at their class. but i did change the channel when stringer started, and kept on, talking.

I think the presenters are the guys who formally ask them into the hall. I listened to Stringer's whole thing. She was as interesting as Sloan, but I know Sloan. Stockton was so awesome. He will become a coach when all his kids are done with needing Dad there every night. He was never a media guy but his personality was so personal. He can motivate. When Gonzaga's coach goes to the ACCor Big 10 Stock will step in.

I watched this, was really interesting to see Stockton's speech, he was actually pretty dang funny. He HAS a personality! Sloan was pretty straight forward Sloan. Had a couple funny things, but mostly was just Sloan. Was very cool to see.
Did anyone else watch this and think that MJ just seemed bitter and still angry at the naysayers? I mean, he seemed like he was still trying to prove he was the best. It kind of made me sad, because I have always thought how amazing he was, but he just seemed childish and lonely to me. I was pretty unimpressed with his speech...

Yes I did watch this and yes I did think MJ had an interesting speech to say the least. Here is a good article about it....
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-jordanhall091209&prov=yhoo&type=lgnsIt made me pretty sad too, I admired and respected Jordan but that speech kinda ruined his image for me.

Did anyone else see that bit on Malone? Showed up for a couple of hours to say hi to Sloan and Stockton on Saturday despite a relative on life support, then went back. Pretty classy move from the Mailman. Condolences to him, though, that can't be a good situation or an easy choice to think through.
