Kirilenko Trade on Immediate Horizon
The transfer in ownership of the New Jersey franchise is just a week or so away according to the news. It's not a maybe or probably ... I'd call it a virtual definite ... that Kirilenko goes to the Nets. For the new Russian owner, having the best Russian player on his roster will be far too tempting to pass on. You can pick and choose on contracts from the Nets, but I'd suspect a couple expirings like Simmons and Battie. The Jazz financial woes will be over after this season and the win total for the current season will probably be unaffected.

Re: Kirilenko Trade on Immediate Horizon
Prokhorov is going after LeBron. He is a businessman at first, and it was financial decision for him, so he will first try to get LeBron. He may try to get AK in couple of next seasons, but I don't think it's going to happen.

Re: Kirilenko Trade on Immediate Horizon
Why would he take on AK's contract if hes going after LeBron? like @ndrew said, maybe next year or after he's on a new contract.

Not a chance in a zillion of Lebron James going to New Jersey.

Jazz wouldn't waste what would be a huge asset next year in Kirilenko's expiring for expiring contracts this year. Besides, long term the Jazz may best be served financially and competitively by extending AK to a contract commensurate with his performance.

This is a stupid thread.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

I also think it's safe to say that, noting the Jazz's performance and Deron's comments regarding the all-star game in Dallas, Williams is most likely pushing for a trade to Dallas, his hometown. We can expect him to be traded for Dampier and expirings, probably by the all-star break.

Unloading overpaid underperforming AK is not a joke. We would be lucky to unload him.

Not sure if that solve any financial woes...the main problem is still what to do with BOTH Booz and Millsap.

exactly why it is a joke, and annoying when fans act like their machinated trade rumors are anything more than a personal delusion as opposed to some kind of inevitable fact.

No GM would take Kirilenko. That's a ludicrous thought. He will play in a Jazz uni at least until february trade deadline next season.. and even at that time it will be darn hard to trade him.

Re: Kirilenko Trade on Immediate Horizon
The only thing that makes it difficult is the strength of 2010. There are plenty of terrible deals the Jazz could take. AK is an effective player who is overpaid.

Honestly, this thread is so bad I can't differentiate between what may be sarcasm and what may be plain stupidity.
"No GM would take Kirilenko. That's a ludicrous thought. He will play in a Jazz uni at least until february trade deadline next season.. and even at that time it will be darn hard to trade him."
-Two Words, Zach Randolph.
"I also think it's safe to say that, noting the Jazz's performance and Deron's comments regarding the all-star game in Dallas, Williams is most likely pushing for a trade to Dallas, his hometown. We can expect him to be traded for Dampier and expirings, probably by the all-star break.
-Now this I am almost 100% positive is a joke and also applaud ele.ven because its pretty hilarious.... unless it's serious... then I retract my laughter and submit a formal "OMG WTF".

Re: Kirilenko Trade on Immediate Horizon
Am I the only one that wants to hang onto AK and sign him cheap when his contract is up? I think he is very much a key player on this team. It's pretty simple, when he gets a lot of minutes, we win more games. And now that he has beefed up, he is rebounding better, and not getting knocked off his route to the basket every time he takes a hit.
I think he will have a great season, and continue to be underrated. He just has so many great intangibles. He obviously isn't worth what we are paying him now, but he is worth hanging onto if we can get the right price. If we could get a defensive minded center (or play one that we have) he would be a formidable help defender once again.

Re: Kirilenko Trade on Immediate Horizon
I agree too. Extending him now may help us get him at the right or better value.
