Caron Butler or Chris Kaman

Post#1 » by blackham9258 » Tue Dec 8, 2009 4:00 am

Who would you rather go after, and who would you give up to get them?

I would give up Memo for either if that could get it done, and I would prefer to get kaman.

I would do a deal for both if AK could go for either of them.

Butler Packages:

Memo for Butler straight accross
Memo & Korver for Butler/Mcgee
AK for Butler/McGee and Cash
Boozer for Butler/Mcgee

Kamaon Packages:
Memo for Kaman
Memo & CJ for Kaman
Memo & Korver for Kaman/Rasual Butler
Memo & Brewer for Kaman/Butler if necessary (I love Brewer but he will be tough to keep if we can't trade CJ.
AK for Kaman/Butler

I think both players are a decent option. The Jazz need to see how they play the Lakers and Orlando this week and evaluate their team. The Jazz have several expiring contracts and the NYK pick so they have what other teams want. The Jazz may even approach San Antonio about Duncan as they should be thinking of rebuilding. Most importantly, the Jazz and KOC need to know where Boozer stands. Does he want to be here? Is he just making a contract run? You cannot ask more than what Boozer has done the last fews weeks even hustling on defense.

Possible Duncan trade:
Jazz get Duncan & Ratliff
Spurs get Memo, Harpring, Korver, Kosta and NYK pick

Jazz lineup:
PG Williams Maynor Price
SG Mathews CJ Brewer Price
C Duncan Boozer Millsap Fess Ratliff
PF Boozer Millsap AK-47
SF Brewer AK-47 CJ

Spurs rebuild maybe even trade Ginobili and build around free agency, Parker and the NYK pick.

Jazz make run at Lakers and get veteran leader they need!!
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

I was a big advocate of getting Butler in the past but this year he has absolutely lost a step and is no longer interesting to me, especially with Matthews playing so well. Kaman would be very interesting, especially if you can land him without giving up Memo (allowing Memo to play some 4). Duncan would be a dream come true but no way I see the spurs retooling yet, I think Duncan will finish his career in San Antonio.

Why is everyone so in love with Bogut? You would seriously be willing to give up Memo AND Millsap for Bogut? No way! Bogut is worth Memo and any one of the four out of Kosta/Harpring/Price/Fes. No way in hell I am trading for Bogut if we have to lose 2 key rotation players, the guy has been hurt often and hasn't done a whole lot that is all that impressive. Kaman is the man the Jazz should go after if they are going to be trying to trade anyone. I might actually be willing to give up AK for Kaman....

I would be interested in the Okur & Korver for Butler & McGee. I don't think the Wiz do that. Plus we become even more log jammed at sf and isn't McGee still a bit of a prospect?

Bogut
PPG RPG BPG As
15.1 9.3 1.7 2.1

Okur
PPG RPG BPG S
13.6 6.6 0.7 1.8

Yes i see. Most importantly is the blocks per game, Bogut at least offers resistance in the middle & has a great post game. Okur can only shoot the three better.
