TNT and Boozer

Barkley, Webber and Smith all said Boozer gone for sure at end of the year. In essence, he is a distraction. They also question players ability to play with him knowing that he is gone at the end of the year. This is exactly what I said before the season started, BUT
It has not been the case!!! Boozer playing the best team basketball of his life. He is NOT just on a contract run shooting the ball everytime he touches it. He has improved defensively and passed the ball better this year. With that said, Should he be traded so the Jazz get something for him or should the Jazz play it out and let him leave in the Summer. You are fooling yourself if you think he is on the Jazz roster next year. The Jazz are a better team with him in 2009-2010. This is a tough decision for the Jazz and KOC.

I would love to have him back if he could play this well, he's one of the 5 best bigs in the league when he plays to his potential.

If we get Favors in the draft I have no problem letting Booz go, if we don't it's another story.

I still am hoping for a Boozer trade before teh deadline, as I think he's gone as well.

It depends on if we trade him before the deadline. If not, I want to see who we draft. He is playing very very well, back to his all-star caliber, but I don't think it is a coincidence that it is a contract year. If only the guy could stay healthy for the whole year, then that would mean a lot. I guess we shall see.

And everyone was sure he'd opt out last year.

1. The Knicks have been playing well
2. A lot of people are saying that Favors will be more suited for the SF spot in the NBA
3. If we did end up with Favors, how many big men really live up to their draft-day hype?
I hope that we keep Boozer, I think he's shown a lot of passion for the game and his skill set is not easy to come by. We've been spoiled with all these great point guards and power forwards and I think it makes Jazz fans take it all for granted.
Maybe Boozer will get injured again. Maybe he'll get sucked back into the defensive black hole that's held him back in the past.
Maybe not, and we'll wish he were still around.
I want to keep Booze and work at developing/acquiring both length and a SG/SF that can handle some of the scoring load consistently.

I love the way Boozer is playing right now but you have to remember 2 major things....
#1-He is healthy. He has finally had a healthy start to a season and has managed to stay healthy so far.
#2-He is playing for a contract. It's a contract year! He is playing for more money right now, it's hard to believe Boozer will keep playing like this when he gets his money. It's a big risk to re-sign him yet can we afford to not re-sign the man?
I am really interested to see what happens at the trade deadline and what happens in the draft. Depending on if the Jazz make any moves or who we draft could mean if we try and keep Boozer around or not.

Indeed Boozer is on a contract year, but honestly he isn't doing anything he couldn't do in the past. He averaged 20.9ppg 11.7rpg 3.0apg in 06-07 in 74 games. He's just gotten a little better, and he's 100%, health wise. Obviously a contract year is a reason to play harder, but it's not like what Bosh has done, and his team is still losing.

I've always said, that I don't think Boozer is leaving. I think the fans are stupid and Boozer is too. But stupid things get long forgotten when games are won. I remember Malone said about just as many stupid things x100 and he always was welcomed back with open arms.
Why would the Jazz trade away a player that produces like Boozer. It just doesn't make sense, just because he said he was going to opt out. It's good business to opt out even if he was planning on staying to make more money. And he can make more money if he stays with the Jazz at the end of this year instead of moving elsewhere.
It all depends on what really happened behind the scenses with the admin. and Boozer if they have mended any rips than all is good, if not he'll be gone. Or really he probably already would be gone so he is definitly staying.
Just because they matched Millsap means nothing to this. Good management always keeps good players no matter what position they are. I think Barkley's reasoning on this is flayed.

You realize that Favors is top 5 material?

Sure do. The Knicks are playing great ball right now but I don't expect it to last. Besides, a man can dream can't he?

We get the Knicks pick this year.
