Jazz to trade Maynor and Harpring to the Thunder for nothing

Post#1 » by Three34 » Tue Dec 22, 2009 11:31 pm

Couldn't see a thread on this, but your team just pulled a big old salary dump. A big old dump.

http://blog.newsok.com/thunderrumblings ... ton-wilks/

The move saves the Jazz a lot of million. Very many millions.

Peter Fehse is a lanky Jewfro'd German who was drafted in 2002, never came over, and never will. He is semi-retired due to injury, and never got anywhere as a player anyway. So it's a pure dump.

They saved about $13 million in the deal. With that, you can buy multiple Eric Maynors.

This pisses me off and makes me dislike Ronnie Price. Ronnie Price is not a good point guard.

Fans never like salary dumping useful players, and they never should. But it's still a good move. The move reduces the Jazz's payroll from the $93 million or so that it was destined to be after tax payments, down to around $80 million or so. They're now about $4.5 million over the tax threshold. If they can make one more money saving deal and get under the tax (such as Korver or whoever), it'll be nearer $60 million after rebates are considered.

No one pays that much for Eric Maynor if they don't have to, and the Jazz didn't have to. It kind of sucks from the fans point of view, but in theory, that amount of saved money can buy a lot more Eric Maynors.

Of all the weeks for me to feel like posting inappropriate words, images... Couldn't they have done a future first or second and included Price instead?

OK! the jazz save money and Maynor would be pushing williams by next year, and price is ok as a back up, and they probably will sign or find another point guard!!! But where the hell!!!!! is the big man defensive player we need to help this team!!

OK, the Jazz save 15 million, and no you wouldn't give Maynor a 15 million dollar contract. They should have dumped Kosta instead.

Pretty sure that OKC said "we want Maynor" not "give us whoever you feel like sticking us with".

The Jazz have only 12 players after this deal, so they have to sign someone. You can only have 12 players for two weeks at a time.

13. Like someone JUST SAID, the Jazz will have 14 days to add a player. By that time, it's possible they could add someone on a 10-day contract.

I think it'll be a two for one trade. Something like Jaric-Gay or something involving cap'n Kirk. I don't know if we'll be trading Boozer, Okur, or AK though.

Great, maybe we'll get another effing "veteran leader" like jason hart or brevin night. or a headcase like nate robinson.
