OT: Guns in the locker room?

Post#1 » by HammerDunk » Fri Jan 1, 2010 7:50 pm

This story is just crazy.

http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archi ... n_dispute/

Why in the world would you bring a gun to the locker room and then pull it on a teammate! I mean, I know DC is the murder capital of the country and all, but wow. I used to like Arenas, but this is just incredibly stupid and dangerous.

What is with the thug mentality of these grown men that get payed millions to play basketball!!?? I am just blown away with this one... :o

Funny thing is they will never be able to get rid of him. Not only does his pride and arrogance get in the way, but that contract is hell.

Gilbert had nothing to worry about, Jarvis cant shoot.

I guess the bullets name makes sense.

this ranks up there with the moron plaxico burress who thought it was smart to carry a gun everywhere he went especially in public, accidentally shot himself in the leg and luckily didn't kill anyone..I believe he's still in Jail, lost millions, from super bowl to Jail. What an idiot.

These two players are lucky they're in the NBA, if this was the NFL they'd be gone in a heartbeat and all that money from the contract would be gone as well. What I don't understand is why you even need a gun at a basketball game? If these two guys had a problem with each other..the answer is a GUN?? What are they 8 years old?? Courts have security, they have security in the locker room, so it's not like they were worried about fans...what if the two actually or accidentally fired off a gun, stray bullet..kill a reporter doing an interview nearby..another player...kill a fan getting an autograph?

MORONS. But knowing the NBA.. they'll be fined/suspended and back making millions..and it won't dent their pocketbooks. I hope the police can find a way to throw the book at those two jokers, and really go after them because I have little faith in the NBA.

Maybe the Jazz can benefit from these Jokers by trading for one of there players when they have to break up that gang.

I hope they go after Caron Butler. :D (You know his salary is pretty equal to Milsaps)

Malone carried a gun, He said he did in an article, he mentioned on team busses, so I am sure he had one in the locker room. If I were a celebrity I would carry one too. Now pulling and pointing it at somebody, you better have a darn good reason.

Yeah but Malone actually respected when to use a gun. No way he is pulling out a piece during an argument. Nice leadership there agent zero.

I would love to get Butler, but they will probably only look to move Jamison.

Keep in mind that this happened in Washington DC which has some of the strictest gun laws in the country. If there is enough evidence of either player brandishing a gun, they could be facing a possibility of 5 years in prison. It's already under police investigation with possibly federal investigations coming soon. To be blunt, these two guys are morons. The Wizards will most likely receive fines for acknowledging that he had guns at the arena. The CBA bans players from having guns at any team venue, vehicle, etc. As for Gilbert, if he does get charged, the Wizards will be able to walk away from his contract most likely due to conduct clauses that are automatically put in, unless he managed to get those removed. Did I mention they were morons?

Well, that makes him a target, especially in a place like Washington. I wonder what the safest cities for an NBA player are. Salt Lake, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Portland are probably the safest. I may be wrong though, I would have considered Denver relatively safe but that's where an athlete was actually murdered.

This might actually be a good thing for the Wizards, if Arenas gets prosecuted and they get out of his contract.

At first it sounded like he pulled out a gun and pointed it. I guess that didn't happen. Gilbert let him know he had a gun, which was located in his locker. Crittendon said he had a gun too but it wasn't on him. That's what I understand at this point.

Not brandishing it was probably the only smart thing he did in this story. He saved himself some jail time if that is the case.

Anyone want to bet that Melo and K-Mart pack to the games as well?

Do chartered flights go through the same security? I would think thy should, a charter plane can crash into a building as easy as a commercial plane.
