the Jazz quit on Sloan tonite!

Post#1 » by Montanajazz » Tue Jan 5, 2010 5:55 am

Do you think the jazz players quit on Sloan to-nite? I don't think Jerry can Motivate or coach this team anymore. It doesn't matter who they add to the roster, it isn't gonna change anything. A team quits when it loses at home 3 times in a row and is out rebounded, and commits to many turnovers and does not play with any urgency. That is the Utah Jazz right now. Jerry, please step down!!!!!!!!!

Jerry's never motivated his players. He's said himself it's not his job to motivate his players. It's the players job to motivate themselves.

Obviously that philosophy isn't working anymore.

They quit on Sloan LONG ago, now they are quitting on each other and themselves. Overpaid spoiled brats will always be overpaid spoiled brats.

No coach in the NBA would be able to win with how poorly this team is put together. It's not Sloan's fault, it could be the fact we have a 10 foot tall white guy playing center, who is afraid to get touched, no shooters, and half of the team not wanting to play in Utah. This is on KOC and the players.

really....you don't think that 10 ft white guy(i'm assuming you're refeering to Okur)hasn't seemed to drive and play more post than previous? How is not the coach's fault that players who are good shooters are scared of shooting because if they miss they gat pulled? It's not the coach's fault that Fes can play great one game and then get DNPCD for the next five(allegedly because gametime effort be damned he's not a great "practice" player)? Are the players in charge of calling timeouts when other teams are making runs? The players are in charge of offensive & defensive schemes? If so WTF is Sloan even on the sidelines for? I didn't get to watch the last game, but I do agree I've seen the players(DWill/AK/Okur specifically) look at Sloan like "Coach are you crazy" when he calls out a play or defensive scheme and then look towards the bench shaking their heads when it doesn't work....it seems like this has been more noticable since the maynor trade....I've worked for incompetent supervisors and mgmt and it's difficult to give your all when you know you're goin in the wrong direction.....IMHO guys came into this season thinking Booze would be gone and had definite ideas about what their roles would be and it hasn't happened....I think that's why Okur came in lookin to be more of a post presence and why his 3pt shooting has been off...AK came in bulked up...CJ put in alot of work etc....and when they were winning maybe the thinking was "well maybe mgmt is willing to pay for a winning team" then maynor is traded and that was shattered....

Wow, the day Okur and AK have the nerve to criticize anything Sloan does is the day one of them should grow some heart. Those two along with Miles are the three most heartless players I've ever seen in a Jazz uniform. I would have no problem benching Okur and never letting him step on the court again if he has a problem with managment. I'm not too fond of the way things have been going in Utah, but for some reason it just pisses me off when someone like Okur or even AK has the balls to complain about it, because they're the main problems as far as I'm concerned.

I like what you said jazzed77. the blame is all on the coach! All of you pretending its Okur this kirlinko that, miles is to weak, Williams is not good on defense. This is all coming down because the jazz ownership has allowed Sloan to stay to long. He got into the hall of fame, so lets move on without him and put some new life into this team! with trades and/or free agent signings, buyouts, whatever. This has been a tiresome team to watch for 3 years. Even though it is utah, CHANGE is GOOD!!
