I think most people hear feel the same way. Nice to see the Jazz are obviously in talks to reshape the team. Hope something happens sooner than later.

Problem is that damn extension they signed Okur to. Brilliant move there.

I honestly think the extension with Okur was more emotional than anything. With Boozer doing what he was doing the Jazz were trying to show him. Now it looks like that was a big mistake.

Anyone think we'll see a deal by the end of the week? From what it looks like, it seems like KOC is finally looking to move Booz, when I think he should be trying to move AK/Okur.

We'll see, Jazz gotta get their PG today, it'll be interesting to see if anything else goes down in the process.

Believe me. He has been trying to move AK for a while now. Its impossible with his contract.

I can barely watch the games. I feel like David After The Dentist . . . "IS THIS REAL LIFE? AAAAAAAA!!!!!"

If there's anyway to make a move that gets rid of CJ or Korver, KOC needs to get it done. I've honestly given up on CJ, I think he's hit his ceiling. The only downside is it seems like moving CJ could be detrimental to Deron's happiness as it seems CJ is one of his closest friends on the team.

The longer time goes by the less impossible moving AK is. At the end of the season he will become a huge asset.

i really think gortat is the guy u should get,
a frontline okur+gortat+millsap would be great
Gortat is a sloan kind of guy

not sure what u could offer to orlando

i m not a big fan of boozer in orlando,i dont think he d work for us,not enough room in the paint for boozer+D12 IMO.

most of the magic fan ,think a deal around bozzer for gortat+bass would be good for both team (but i dont really like this deal for us)

it's all lip service. they are just trying to get their 13th player via 2 for 1 trade, but i doubt they are serious about it all. the wiretap said the jazz are asking too much. if they really wanted to improve the team by trading away players who didnt want to be here, they would have done it by now.

personally, im thinking the same sort of trades the jazz are famous for, that is, trading away the 12th man for a pick or considerations. only once in a blue moon do we get somebody of even korver's caliber.

needless to say, im not holding my breath on them improving the team via trade.

After listening to KOC on the radio yesterday It didn't sound like he felt today was a true deadline from the league - made some reference to the league being understanding that the 2 weeks fell over the holidays and as long as they move forward before the 10th he didn't think the league would have a problem with it.

I don't think the Jazz can deal for Gorat easily. The Magic are over the cap and Gorat is a Base Year player with right of first refusal.

You have no clue who he's talking to. The best offer he might have received was Arenas and a bushel of corn for Deron and the NY 1st.

Yep. There is no hard and fast rule. KOC says the league says "2 weeks" and if they don't get someone they could get a call saying they need to add another player but there isn't really an exact deadline or penalty if they don't add someone--though KOC says he has never tested the rule so he doesn't know what they would say.

The other interesting thing is Wednesday is the deadline to waive players to they clear waivers before contracts are guaranteed. This could prompt a flurry of moves including players who may be available on waivers or free agents that could be signed.

Also interesting was the discussion about trade exceptions. They have one for Harpring's salary and one for Maynor's salary since OKC could absorb the salary and didn't send a player back. Those are good for 1 year. They cannot be broken up but used to take on a player for nothing if the salary is equal or less than the value of the trade exception. And the Jazz are willing to take on more salary THIS YEAR for a player they felt could help--though they would really not want to take on more salary in future years if they absolutely don't have to.

My take is something is going to give. KOC, Sloan, and the players all sound like things are at a point that something is going to happen.

All this is conjecture from "sources". Jazz wont do anything major yet, however, at least we are now a little over a month away from put up or shut up time for the Jazz.

I personally think Orlando and the Bobcats are the best trading partners for the Jazz, but the Jazz need to decide right now if they want to rebuild or reload. If its reloading then hey need to dangle Boozer and Korver for more long-term contracts (Chandler, Gortat etc.) if its rebuilding its dumping Boozer for nothing and hopefully a 1st round pick and getting under the tax this season.

As for Utah asking for too much I wouldnt be surprised. Remember when they wouldnt trade AK because they thought he was worth more? Jazz are a very stubborn organization from Jerry on up to KOC.

Wouldn't the magic prefer Okur instead? A big man who camps and takes 3pts and clears the paint for howard? A trade based around Okur for Gortat would be awesome.

This has entered my mind as well, but I believe any team would prefer Boozer. A Boozer/Howard front-line would be absolutely lethal. Additionally, Orlando has plenty of shooters. Ideal scenario for the Jazz, though.

I'm a fan of both Orlando and Utah, and trust me, nobody wants Okur. A Bass/Gorat for Boozer would be best for both teams. Both Gorat and Bass would be double digit scorers in a starting lineup, and Gortat has the potential to be an all-star someday. Plus, I think adding Boozer to Orlando would put them over the top and make them a dynasty. Even though Boozer has his faults, he is exactly what Orlando needs: someone who can get a bucket when things are falling apart. Carter was supposed to be that guy, but he's too soft.

I wouldn't even say Deron is untouchable. I don't believe that anybody in the league is untouchable.
