2010 All Star Squads

Here is my best shot:

East: Starters: James, Wade, Howard, Garnett and wow, Iverson (by vote). Reserves: Bosh, Rondo, Pierce, G. Wallace, Joe Johnson, B. Lopez, and David Lee. Iverson knocks out D. Rose. Biggest snubs based on efficiency: A. Jamsion, Iguodala, Horford and Josh Smith (all in the top twelve in EC efficiency).

West: Starters: Bryant, Nash, Anthony, Nowitski and Stoudemire. Reserves: Duncan, Paul, P. Gasol, Durant, Roy, C. Kaman, and Deron Williams. Biggest snubs based on efficiency: Z. Randolph, Boozer (both in the top twelve in efficiency).

didn't the voting end yesterday? when will we know?

btw, no way dwill gets in this year. i wouldn't mind as it will probably result in him tearing it the **** up during the second half of the season.

Wasn't McGrady one of the leading vote getters? What happened with that? Or was that just rumor talk?

Iverson being in the all star game is an absolute joke

I thought McGrady was in also.

Anyways, no Jazz players this year. I would be shocked to see Deron get in. Even though I feel like he whole heartedly deserves it, I don't see him getting in over Nash, Paul, Kobe, and Roy.

And if McGrady did get a spot he definitely doesn't have a chance.

East
Starters: A. Iverson, D.Wade, L.James, K.Garnett, D.Howard
2 Guards: R.Rondo, J.Johnson
2 Forwards: C.Bosh, J.Smith
1 Centre: S.O'Neal
2 Wildcard: G.Wallace, D.Rose

O'Neal over B.Lopez, A.Horford, D.Lee
Wallace over P.Pierce, V.Carter, D.Granger
Rose over R.Allen, M.Williams (even though I dont think Rose deserves it)

West
Starters: S.Nash, K.Bryant, C.Anthony, T.Duncan, A.Stoudamire
2 Guards: C.Paul, B.Roy
2 Forwards: K.Durant, D.Nowitzki
1 Centre: P.Gasol
2 Wildcard: Z.Randolph, D.Williams

Randolph over A.Bynum, C.Kaman, C.Boozer
Williams over C.Billups, J.Kidd, T.Parker (although I wouldnt be disappointed if Billups was selected)

So i have picked J.Smith, S.O'Neal and D.Rose over P.Pierce, B.Lopez and D.Lee in the East and only Z.Randolph over C.Kaman

Can't see Randolph making it. His numbers pretty much square with Boozer's on a per minute basis. He averages a point and a rebound more .... but in a couple extra minutes per game. Boozer leads him in shooting percentage, assists (by almost double) and even blocked shots.

Deron Williams has put up some good individual numbers. But I'm not sure if he will get the All Star nod over Chauncey. Team success is important too, and the Jazz are a borderline playoff team.

Well 5 guards got in last year (Kobe, Paul, Billups, Parker, Roy). So no reason they can't put in Nash/Paul/Kobe/Roy/Deron at once

I think you're pretty much guaranteed to see five guards again this year. There's so many talented guards in the West, rest assured at least one of those two Wild Card spots will be a guard. I honestly wouldn't be shocked if both were. This is coaches voting, and last time I checked, Zach Randolph wasn't the most popular guy among coaches.

DWill should send an iPhone with nothing but highlights of himself on it to all the coaches in the league...

Based on what the pundits are saying, Gasol will not be named to the squad due to games missed. They are almost unanimously speculating that it will be Z. Randolph in the final reserve spot. That would be a tough break for Boozer because, statistically speaking, it's hard to see where Randolph rates an edge. And amazingly enough, Boozer's defense has been a little better. Best basis for Randolph would have to be including a Grizzly on the team.

Agree. All Star selections are a stupid way to measure players anyway. What really matters are the All NBA teams because:

1) They're not influenced by stupid fans all over the world (I'm looking at you, China)

2) They're decided after the entire regular season is played, not just half of it

I don't think China had that big of hand in it. I think it was Americans.
