Jazz Top 10 Moments KJZZ 8PM

Post#1 » by Racer X » Thu Jan 21, 2010 11:15 pm

David James is hosting a special "Top 10 Jazz Moments" tonight on KJZZ at 8 I believe. Dont know if others have caught on to that.

What would be your 10?

!. Stockton 97 3 in Houston (obviously)
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

I dont really know. That is pretty tough. Things that come to my mind are Jazz win Game 7 in Houston in 2007, Stockton assist record, Jazz sweep of Lakers in 98, Triple OT win against Chicago/Jordan . . .

It sucks the greatest moment is not a championship. Stocktons records and Malones awards will be up there.

Hopefully someone Youtube's this. After #1, 2 has to be the end of 97 NBA Finals Game 4. Stockton to beat the Kings in 1999 Game 4 and the game 7 win at Houston 07 are definitely in there. Possibly beating the Lakers in the 97 semis with Kobe's OT and Double OT airballs too.

Kind of weird seeing old ass Hot Rod play in the legends game. And man is it nice to hear his voice again. Seeing Stockton-Malone and company again makes me nostalgic as hell.

Honorable Mentions: Eaton, Stockton, and Malone in the All-Star game. Malone gets All-Star MVP. Hot Rod plays in the Legends game. Stockton gets the steal record. Sundiata Gaines buzzer beater against the Cavs.

10. Darrell Griffith 3 point buzzer beater. It's kind of surreal for me to hear Rickey Greene's name instead of Stockton's. I liked the Griffith clips they showed with it.
9. Fisher's return against the Warriors. The most emotional thing on the list. It really was a great moment for the franchise and the league. Props to Fisher.
8. The largest comeback in NBA history. Denver must have had nightmares for weeks.
7.Game 7 at Houston 2007. Ak's three pointer decided this game. This was one of my favorite playoff series ever.
6. Stockton beats bulls in 1989. Stockton is definitely the most clutch Jazz player ever. He could do everything you needed to win the game including shouldering the scoring load.
5. Jazz beat bulls in triple overtime in 1992. Jordan fouls out, Phil Jackson freaks the **** out. Eaton looks like one of those air powered wavy arm guys when he's guarding the inbound pass.
4. Karl Malone catches Wilt in scoring. Gotta love the reaction by the fans and his teammates.
3. Stockton beats Magic Johnson's assist record. I really like that Stockton's speech and that he got hist assists within the system and didn't hurt his teams chances in the game by trying to force anything. Not like Dwill's 3,000th assist where our offense went stagnant and cost us the game.
2. Immaculate Pass/Jazz even series against the Bulls in 1997. I agree with Pace that the three Stockton plays really showcase his play. Big shots, big steals, and incredible passes.
1. Of course it's Stockton's shot against the Rockets. Absolutely my favorite Jazz highlight to watch.

I can't believe Jeff Malone missed that easy bank shot to end it.

I like Stockton's two awkward hops during the Immaculate Pass more.

That montage at the end was awesome. I thought our sweeping of the Lakers would make an honorable mention.

Memo beating the buzzer against The Spurs in 2005, to end a 18 losing streak to The San Antonio.

That was amazing as well.

Memo and AK's double block against the Pistons could have gotten some air time.
