The Jazz need height and Defensive presence that Okur doesnt give them. The GSW need to dump salary badly as they try to sell the team.
Jazz get Biedrens and Maggette (Jazz only get Biedrens if they take Maggette)
Memphis gets Brewer who provides spark for their bench but is useless versus Lakers height as he cant hit a jumper nor finish inside versus the Lakers height.
GSW get Memo and Korver's expiring contract. Memo has better contract than Biedrens and Korvers expiring contract and getting rid of Maggettes contract worth it to them as they r selling their team.
Jazz Lineup:
PG Williams Price Gaines
SG Matthews Miles
C Biedrens Fess Kosta
PF Boozer Millsap
SF Ak-47 Maggette
Better interior defense and rebounding which would help the Jazz fast break more often versus the Lakers.

How has it not occurred to you that the Jazz ALSO need to dump salary? This brings two big long contracts to Utah.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

The Jazz would be paying basically the same luxury tax this year. Next year Boozer leaves saving the Jazz money. The Jazz need to go for it this year when they still have Boozer because hes gone next year to Miami or Detroit.

I think Biedrins can net something much better than Okur.

Good possibility. I proposed Okur and NYK pick for Biedrens to GSW writer on ESPN and he said GSW do it in a second, but the Jazz fans seem to want to keep the NYK pick at all costs so I proposed this alternate trade to this forum.

If we do end up keeping Okur around we need to consider bringing him off the bench. His stamina has proven to be an issue and I think you could attribute his inconsistency to the lack thereof.
He might be more productive and more of a spark off the bench.

Re: GSW-Utah Trade idea
There is a reason GS would jump all over that deal. It doesn't make sense. Okur and Biedrins are both judged about the same in Hollinger's PER. the scouting report on Biedrins: Biedrins blocks shots and rebounds, so it might seem like he's a good defensive player, but he's mediocre at best. His lack of bulk allows opposing post players to set up wherever they please inside, and his help defense is inconsistent. While he has the mobility to be a good screen-and-roll defender, he doesn't show a great deal of commitment to the enterprise. This trade doesn't make sense. A straight up swap would be more fair, but doesn;t dix our interior defense.
