He hopes it's an option for him to sign with Utah. If I'm Boozer I want as many options as possible; I want several teams bidding for my services because that's how I'll get the best deal.

Nowhere does he say Utah would be his first preference or that he'd give Utah a discount. If he said either of those things then it would really be news.

It seems like he's just an agreeable person. Do you want to stay here? Sure. Do you want to play in Miami? sure

He's trying the opposite of what he did last year. It means jack to me at this point.

I think he's just a "victim" (using the term loosely) of circumstance. A strange situation, some ill timed injuries. I think what ever faults he has are pretty ubiquitous amongst players.

Boozer playing great and thats both good and bad for the Jazz. It helps the Jazz win but it makes it much more likely that Chicago and Miami will make a large offer to Boozer this summer. I cannot see the Jazz matching or exceeding that offer as the Jazz are clearly trying to keep salaries in check in the Brewer and Maynor trades. I am also not sure if I was the Jazz owner if I would pay Boozer 12-14 million a year even though he has been great this year because he does have a history of injuries.

Boozer needs to show us some loyalty and give us a discount...

I'm one of the few Jazz fans that said Boozer would stay with the Jazz this year, and most likely sign an extension with the Jazz. This sort of reminds of when Malone would demand a trade every year and without making rash decisions this organization was always able to keep Malone happy (for the most part) and in Utah.

Boozer currently has the best PG in the league feeding him passes in spots where he can succeed. Boozer is in the right system to showcase his skills and the Jazz are closer than Chicago and Miami to a championship...Which Boozer has said his goal is.

This organization will work out something to keep Boozer in Utah. Do you guys really think someone is going to offer Carlos a 100,000,000 dollar contract? I don't, but I think the Jazz will give him more than anyone and it will be a fair offer...IMO.

This organization is smart, they methodically put together teams that make the playoffs and compete. When Malone and Stockton were running the show the Jazz didn't make the West Finals until 1992; by my estimate that's Karl and John's 7th and 8th year in the league. Then the team added a few key contributors in Anderson, Carr, Ostertag and Hornacek, which put the team in the Finals.

Currently this team is still young, especially their core. Add another high draft pick this year from NY (thanks Isiah) and keep developing this group the Jazz have very promising days ahead. I honestly believe KOC and the Jazz brass are methodically putting together another team to make a run at the title.They have a plan, and Boozer is a main piece of that plan; he's staying get used to it.....

Also, look for Fanzz to raise the price of Boozer jersey's back to normal.

What do people think as far as Boozer getting fat-cat syndrome and his production DECREASING after getting his contract. We've seen it happen before.

Don't get me wrong, I love everything about Booz this season, his attitude and his play have been an absolute joy to witness...

But what if the Jazz do give him an extension and all that changes? Regardless of how he's acting now, you can't help but look at the guys track record and hope that he doesn't start mailing it in once millions of dollars aren't on the line.

I'm interested to see how long a deal the Jazz end up offering him. I think you will have to pay money similar to what he is getting to keep him--but the number of years....do they go 3 with a potential CBA renegotiation looming? Does Boozer push for 5 or 6? Keeping him on a shorter leash may minimize the risk of injury/performance let down we have seen under the last contract (not that the length of your contract can prevent injuries but....).

Assuming Chicago strikes out on Bosh and Stoudemire he'll get a near-max offer from them for five years. If the Jazz want a shot at him they'll need to offer something comparable.

Playing like that, I think he deserve a Max Deal... You can think he will drop his production next year, but still he is better than anything we can add via FA or trade.

His injury history precludes me from thinking max is acceptable; but I have no problems with his work ethic or character.
