I'm really torn on this game.
Denver is playing really poorly, and if they continue to play this poorly facing them in the second round would be a very good thing. So I may want Denver to win tomorow.
However, the Jazz have struggled against Denver this year, and it could just be a match up problem no matter how well they are playing. Also, the Jazz have played very well against Dallas this year killing them one time in Dallas, and then another time the Jazz had to completely self destruct and have Dirk go crazy to beat them in the fourth. Also, if the season ends in a tie, the Jazz do own the tie breaker over Dallas, whereas they don't against the Nuggets. Also, I like Denver facing the Lakers in the second round because I think it'll be a tough series, and if the Jazz can get through to the WCF I would love to face a beat up Denver team, and if we have to face the Lakers I would rather it be after a tough series with Denver.
After breaking it down like that, I feel very comfortable saying GO DALLAS!!!

Dallas, only if AK is healthy. No one else can guard Dirk on the Jazz.

Dallas bc Melo scares me more than Dirk. Winning a division is also worth something!!! Tie breaker also makes us want Dallas to win and Nuggets to lose.

I'm going w/ Denver...as much as it makes me cringe
Denver has a tougher schedule and they're missing their coach and one of their best defenders. I expect them to lose more games than Dallas in the next few weeks.

I want Dallas to lose, Denver is 1-4 in their last 5, while Dallas is I think 16-5 since the All-Star break, so losses are to come by for Denver, but Dallas is still pretty hot.

It's not a big deal, regardless of who wins, they will go .5 up on us, and if they lose we'll get a .5 game lead on them. Denver is tied with us right now, they do have the tie breaker, and Dallas is .5 games ahead of us.
Current standings:
Dallas - 48-25
Denver/Utah - 48-26

you HAVE to want Dallas. We have the tie breaker with Dallas, and not Denver.

Here are the remaining schedules for both teams, my predicted losses for each team in red. I think the Mavericks will drop one of their 2 games vs. Memphis and the Nuggets will lose one to either San Antonio or OKC, so those are labeled green. Following both lists of remaining games is my predicted overall record for both teams assuming both teams win tonight.
Mavericks:
@Memphis
Orlando
OKC
Memphis
@Portland
@Sacramento
@Clippers
San Antonio
Overall 54-28
Nuggets:
Portland
Clippers
@OKC
Lakers
San Antonio
Memphis
@Phoenix
Overall 53-29
As for the Jazz, my optimal prediction includes only a loss to the Lakeshow. Worst case, we also lose to Phoenix or @Houston.
So we either sit at 54-28 or 53-29. So yeah, I guess we do want Dallas to win tonight; if all goes well we tie them at 54 wins and end up in 2nd place.
On another note, Phoenix has been playing well and is right at the Jazz' heels.

Because of a weird rule that I wasn't aware of until recently, we actually wouldn't own the tiebreaker against Dallas if they won their division and we didn't win ours. That being said, Denver losing would certainly help us in that regard.

Nuggets are struggling without Martin, especially on the road. They will lose at least 3 other games after tonight while Dallas only loses one or two, so we need Denver to win tonight.

I think that Denver is going to continue to slide some for the rest of the season. They will lose more than Dallas. That reason I kind of want them.

I think that Denver winning could propel them to a good stretch even without Martin - I hope Dallas wins, but I won't be disappointed however it turns out.

I'll be cheering for Dallas if only for my extreme hatred for the Nuggets.

I didn't read all the posts in this thread, but anyone else a little perturbed by the Carmelo photo? They're looking a little too passionate with each other
