"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Just don't really think there's been any news. I've looked around a little bit for any word... I would guess once preseason picks up there will be more known (at least to me, haha)

I'm sure that, like with all fan related things, this will develop with time. When the Hornets first came to OKC, there was an insane amount of hype around the team (similar to now with this team), however there was an undeveloped knowledge base and under-represented reporting in the news papers/tv. In the Hornets second year here, you really saw people taking an interest in players' individual game's, health, etc. I expect a similar thing to happen now... the first year people will just be excited in general and get to see who all is on the team. The second year, people will be familiar with several of the returning players and start to be more educated on stats, tendancies, talent, potential, injuries, etc. Give it a little time... the team doesn't even have a name or logo yet!

You can't expect a city or state that has been predominantly college oriented to change over night. We have relied on the Dallas papers and reporters to get a majority of our news on professional sports, Cowboys and Mavericks.

As the new team starts to ramp up play, you'll find more and more local reporting, and information to come out, as well as new people coming in to report. Of course the reporting is better in cities that have had teams for a while, we have new people in new positions, so new sources have to be cultivated. It's silly to expect that the day they hit the ground, we're going to start getting inside reports on every detail of team operations.

Again the NBA snobs are trying to puff up their importance by pointing out others ability to measure up to their standards, day one.

Although if the ownership continues to manage like it did in Seattle you will be lucky to get any information. No player interviews, time limits for coach interviews, limited public appearances....

Don't know that anywhere has a SONICS beat guy anymore :)

There has been fairly extensive "NBA in OKC" coverage here in OKC for the last couple of years, and it has ramped up significantly over the last several months. One of the more predominant links for this is http://newsok.com/sports/nbainokc/

So ... we do, or we don't know about the state of Robert Swift? My fantasy team wants to know.

While we're at it as a life long NBA fan in OK And the NBA is nothing new to me I do have to say- The OKC media is absolutely horrible. How the hell did Barry Trammel ever get a job in any field? That old out of touch bastard doesn't even have a clue not even close to what goes on in the NBA. Tramel is a clown and no one knows what the hell he is ever talking about because anything he has to say means absolutely nothing, zero substance. Okies with low Bball IQ learn from him. But if anyone actually wants to know what this game is about then ignore this idiot.

Tramel is the new resident clown of the NBA. Baldwin isn't much better. Sheesh the media in this entire state is piss poor.

I'm pretty sure any homeless man in a New York subway only looking for a place to sleep knows more about basketball than Tramel could ever even dream of.

I have to agree with Radiohead on this one, never thought to well of either one. Mayberry seems to be the best of the bunch when it come to NBA. I'm sure they will have to bring in, or find someone to be their lead reporter for NBA, that go's for radio as well.......
