not really like the warriors had a choice in the matter
as a warriors fan I am undecided how I feel about this. One the one hand I kind of liked thunder. At games he was pretty active, always jumping around and acrobatic dunks. He wasn't a bad mascot. On the other hand, he was pretty generic by all accounts. Only thing that really made him part of identifying the team was that the warriors changed their jerseys to resemble elements associated with thunder, and I didn't really like those jerseys. I've read a couple articles recently about their being possible interest to change the jerseys to something similar to "The City" jerseys, possibly including the bay bridge and some mention of oakland, which would be much better than the current jerseys likely. This would all have to occur for next season of course. This all makes me curious about what the mascot will be now, gives someone an opportunity to be creative.
also, that sfgate article brings up a sad reality about the "Thunder's" ownership... complete lack of creativity, which is unfortunate for the fans.

Clay Bennett is clearly a creative mastermind.
