Would you trade for Amare?

Post#1 » by london sonic » Sat Jan 24, 2009 6:05 pm

With all the problems the Suns are having with Amare would you consider making an trade offer.Suns fans on their board seem to have had enough and even the front office seems to be considering trading him.OKC has a stack of expirings, picks and decent squad players the could offer maybe he could be aquired pretty cheaply.Just interested if troublesome Amare would be popular addition to the team or not.

Simply giving them expirings is not enough for someone like Amare. And the only talent OKC has that Phoenix would want for Amare is Durant. So, hell no.

I agree but I have mixed feelings on Amare the guys very talented but has questions on defense, rebounding and above all character Im not sure Presti would add him and create a problem in the locker room and also resigning him could also be an issue.I must admit Im not up to date with all his issues and if there justified but if happy Amare would look good in this young team.

OKC wouldn't consider Amare without a contract extension, something he isn't likely to do. No way they'd give up anything valuable without that. If he were to agree to an extension a combo of 2 of the following: Green, Westbrook this year's pick would be the foundation to a deal, IMO.

I like Amare... but both his position and style don't really fit with this team and with the amount we would have to give up to get him, he's just not worth the entire future of the strong core assets we've put together.

Oh, I think he would fit in quite well, but I can't see him playing for a rebuilding squad like ours. The situation would deteriorate very quickly.

Well when it was brought up on the GB I believe. GSW was a team under consideration and they were offering much more than that and PHX fans were still unsure.

How about S-Jax, Brandan Wright, Azubuike, and this years 1st rd pick (top-10)?

Replace Azubuike with Anthony Randolph and it's a done deal.

So Stephen Jackson, Brandon Wright, Anthony Raldolph, and a 1st round pick that is almost as good as OKC's.

Personally I feel that is wayyy too much. I think Amare could be had somewhere in between the ideas here and the GSW trade ideas though.
