Well they're going after Salmons and Chandler. One's a shooting guard and one's a big man, so they are well aware of their needs. I agree that Chandler would be a more welcome addition.

Looks like they are going to have Tyson Chandler by the end of the day. A bit of a gamble with his health issues but I think it is well worth the risk considering that they have badly needed a decent center for years and he is still young at 26.

Nah... I've made it no secret that I'm a huge Green fan. Miller and Love are both good players, but I just don't want to see Green leave the team. Especially now that we've secured who I saw as possibly the ideal Center next to Green/Durant in the frontcourt.

How about this idea:

Suns Get: Wilcox/Watson/Thornton/'10 PHX first returned
Suns Give: Amare

Clippers Get: Amare
Clippers Give: Kaman/Thornton/Collins

Thunder Get: Kaman/Collins
Thunder Give: Wilcox/Watson/'10 PHX first returned

From an OKC perspective, I would definitely do it. We get a pretty good center for 2 guys that aren't a part of the picture and a mid-round draft pick (most likely, I don't think the Suns will fall THAT far that fast).

Sorry to keep bothering you guys with trade ideas. I know that you guys really like Jeff Green, but how about this idea in the offseason:

Kaman/Thornton for Green

You guys will have a lot of cap space, and you get your center and SF of the future in one deal. Draft a PF (Griffin, Hill, or Monroe)

Westbrook
Durant
Thornton
(Griffin, Hill, Monroe)
Kaman

That lineup looks ridiculously scary.

Well it's not bad value wise.

Except Durant is a SF not a SG. So why would they need Thorton?

Now Eric Gordon and Kaman for would make a lot more sense from a positions needed stand point.

No... Thornton doesn't have a place on a winning team. The guy is a gunner with little other impact on the game. If we want a guy to force up a shot at that position, it may as well be Durant who is going to hit a higher % (even of the bad shots). Thornton has some talent, I just wouldn't ever pursue him if I was trying to build a winning team.

I do like Kaman, but I like Green more. Gotta agree though, if there's a deal that I like involving Kaman and Green, it would be a solid one for the Thunder. I like Kaman and Gordon for Green... just don't know if the Clipps would do it.

Thornton could also be the 6th man, with his 16-18 ppg off the bench, and start either Thabo or Weaver at the 2, with Durant at the 3.

First of all there is no way Eric Gordon is getting traded. It's just like there's no way you guys are trading Westbrook. I agree that a Kaman and Green trade makes some sense and that Green has more value than Kaman right now. That's why the Clips should give something else in addition to Kaman.

Maybe a 3-team deal similar to my last idea, just with Thornton going to another team that values him more.

I like Deng's chances as a winning player a lot more... but the big issue is that one of the only reasons we'd even consider trading Green is because many feel that his ideal position is SF. Durant's ideal position is also SF. So I don't think the Thunder would want to invest 10 mil per year into another guy who can really only play SF.

I want nothing to do with deng.

Are you kidding me? Unless we get back an incredibly delicious PF or C Green is going nowhere.

Agreed
I think Deng is only a SF
While I believe Green is able to play multiple positions
I think that if the Clips were willing to do that deal you would seriously have to consider it
Just eliminate the Bulls and see if you could swap Thornton for a stud SG or PF

Deng's atrocious, one of the worst contracts in the nba.
Kaman+Jordan for Green? Well, kaman has to prove he can still play. all this talk might be for nothing if Monroe gets drafted.
