We know we need defensive center.
someone who is 7 foot tall, wide windspan, athletic, can run the floor, can defense, move laterally with decent foot speed, can jump, hustle and brings energy.
someone who can rebound and block.
who doesnt need the rock in his hands to be effective in the game.
who is young but proven, and hopefully cheap.
With his reputation, he is not going to be asking for a ton of money.
recent he has shown he can defend and rebound in limited minutes.
who has the best physical tools to play the C spot, well maybe not the hands.
his name is Kwame Brown.
I know how he cannot catch a pass to save his life.
but if, all we want is a defensive presence, he is the guy to have.
he will not have ego problems either even if we somehow land other big name C and sent him to bench. he can handle that.
any thoughts?

Anyone else not named Kwame Brown. If the lottery goes right for the Thunder come May, then by June hopefully Hasheem Thabeet will be the pick the Thunder will draft.

Re: Call me crazy
blah... Not a fan. He's definitely got his flaws. But I just don't see the same strengths. I would say his best quality is that he's a pretty decent 1 on 1 defender in the post. Outside of that, pretty much everything is below average to me.

LOL
I mean really?
quote from a post in the Detroit board, "Kwame is averaging 7.5 pts 8.8 rebs 1.3 asts 1.2 stls on 54% fg and 71% ft in 22.3 mpg while turning it over just 1 time per game during the past 6 games"
how is that not impressive?
take a look at tyson chandler's number and it makes even more sense to pick Kwame up.
Tyson is averaging almost 9 rebounds in this season, who is injury prone and in a bigger, longer contract.
I am not saying he is the basketball god, I doubt he makes it into our starting lineup.
just thought it might worth a look, especially if we cannot land any good center in off-season.

No I like Kwame. I wonder what he would cost. He doesn't have a bad attitude or any hangups, just got stone hands

Re: Call me crazy
He's an okay player... definitely... but what really makes him more special to this team than Krstic or Collison? I think that as far as team defense, Collison is well ahead of Kwame (although not 1on1 post D, as I said before). On offense, Collison is far more reliable. Krstic is leaps and bounds better on offense and not a total liability on D. We're committed to both contracts for next year, and I think they'll keep both around (unless we go big in the draft, maybe one would head out then).
