Russell Westbrook

Post#1 » by peteyjones13 » Tue Dec 8, 2009 6:30 am

Raps fan here,
I was just curious about Russell Westbrook. I haven't seen you guys, or him play so much. He seems talented, but he often shoots for a low percentage taking a lot of shots. Does he jack up a lot of bad shots? How talented is he as a player. I was just wondering because I'm a basketball nut, and I love your team with Durant and Green, and even Krstic is an underrated big man. But I don't know about Westbrook. What can you guys tell me about him?

I'd be more concerned about Green than Westbrook.

Westbrook is obscenely talented. He can be out of control at times, and will take too many jumpers (He's still not a good jump shooter). Still, he gets to the line a lot, rebounds well, and can play good defense. He's still not entirely comfortable at the PG position, but I think he will grow into it. His low FG% is somewhat offset by his ability to draw fouls. He's still a big positive on the court and our second best player.

I'm sure some other Thunder fans have a less flattering opinion of him though.

russell westbrook is amazing! and even though hes kinda crazy and does (Please Use More Appropriate Word) things... i would take him over anyone taken before and after him in the 2008 draft.. russell is a hardworker and a great team player. he will take this team to new heights!

go thunder!

Really? Knowing what we know now (love hindsight!) wouldn't OKC be better off with Brook Lopez, then Rubio in this past draft. I really like Westbrook too, and of course OKC should be ecstatic to have him as well as Harden (I agreed with that pick since OKC ultimately does have Russell), but a core of:

Lopez
Green
Durant
Thabo
Rubio

yeah but idk how happy rubio wouldve been about coming to oklahoma city. and im not too crazy about him honestly. and lopez is amazing and i say i love his game. but russell is so exciting and talented. if he reaches anywhere near his obcene potential we could easily be contenders. i like

Westbrook
harden <- you will see why soon enough lol
durant
green <- hopefully he gets it soon. this guy is our big X factor
C- X - i have no idea what we will do here. this is where lopez would have been nice

Oh come on you can't pigeon hole Lopez like that. That is like saying durant sucks because of the thunders start last season. I'm happy with this team but Lopez and Jennings would have looked great.
