Not just for the Thunder but in the entire league. Well according to advanced statistics at least.

that article it explains how valuable Durant has been for us. he obviously won't win it this year, but if he continues to improve and help this team make the playoffs he will definitely win it in a few years.

I'm not a fan of Wayne Winston at all, but it's true that KD is having a great year. You probably have to put him ahead of Paul Pierce now and firmly #3 at SF behind Lebron and Carmelo. Carmelo's playing out of his mind, too, and KD isn't that far behind him IMO.
If KD can somehow get his 3pt% back up over 33% he'd be right there with Melo.

Re: Durant is having a MVP type year
I was just thinking about this the other day. And that Durant is putting up MVP numbers.
I don't think he wins it this year unless the Thunder take another step and go crazy for 50+ wins. But you can't tell me this team would win many games if he wasn't on the team.
The Thunder have a lot of really good young talent and typically young doesn't translate into win but Durant really does bring them that game breaker type player.
Truly Superstar level.
I just keep thinking that
Durant is 21
Westbrook 21
Green 23
Ibaka 20
Harden 20
Thabo 25
To think these guy could possibly play together for 7 or 8 years if they can manage the cap. That is a great core of young guys to go forward with.
I can't even begin to imagine how good Durant is going to get. You can't tell me the kid is even close to his prime. So scary, he is going to be a monster.
He really is Durantula.

Dont know about MVP just yet but Durant more than held his own against Bron (Till his late explosion) and actually outplayed Melo in Denver although it was in a loss (32 and 10)

I don't think he will actually win the MVP but he should at least be in the discussion.
Personally I think LeBron will win it because Danny Ferry is a horrible GM and has had SEVEN years time to get LeBron a true Robin and the best he has come up with is a 37yr old center who is on his last legs. Horrible fore thought, drafts and offseasons to construct a team.
Danny Ferry is about to lose his MVP FRANCHISE PLAYER. I'd say the only gm that is worse would be Wally Walker. He managed to lose the NBA FRANCHISE.
Still LeBron will be at top of the standings and stats. He's the golden child. Plus honestly he is the best player on the planet. I love Durant and think he will be a very special player but right now I don't think anyone would let LeBron slip to #2 if they were make a draft of the entire league.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head wiff.
I wish the Raptors had a team like you guys do in OKC.
I was thinking about it, Anthony Randolph would be such a great compliment to your front line you'd be almost unstoppable. Something like Thabo and Etan Thomas for Randolph and Maggette?
Oklahoma City Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: +17.3 ppg, +3.1 rpg, and +1.3 apg.
Incoming Players
Corey Maggette
6-6 SF from Duke
16.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.0 apg in 26.5 minutes
Anthony Randolph
6-10 PF from LSU
11.3 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 1.1 apg in 22.2 minutes
Outgoing Players
Thabo Sefolosha
6-5 SG from Switzerland (Foreign)
6.4 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 1.8 apg in 31.4 minutes
Etan Thomas
6-10 C from Syracuse
3.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 0.0 apg in 16.1 minutes
works in the checker, and your team would be too athletic!
Kristic/ Ibaka
Green/ Randolph
Randolph/ Maggette
Durant/ Harden
Westbrook/ Livingston

Re: Durant is having a MVP type year
Randolph seems like a Presti type of player, long and versatile. But the only way I can see us getting him is by either trading Jeff Green for him, which I'm lukewarm on (I think Jeff Green could get more) or by taking back Corey Maggette. Wouldn't be happy with either scenario.

Durant is a future hall of famer at this rate. It not even a question that the Thunders would suck without Durant. He drop 30 points on my beloved Lakers, he been beasting since the day he came into the NBA. Durant, Westbrook, Green, and a good PF and C, and the Thunders are a very dangerous team.
Who are u guys getting for 2010?

No way you guys ever get AR4 from us.
However, KD aka Baby Ice is a superstar right now. When the playoffs begin, no team in the WC wants to face the OKC Thunder, NO ONE... You guys have a wonderful future!!!!

He really is, especially with the Thunder's recent winning streak and his streak of 30 point games. He definitely won't win it this year unless the Thunder do something crazy and win 50+ games. But he should be mentioned probably in the top 10 as of now.
