I agree that Green wasn't efficient but he did a LOT of other things well slick. Like a couple of huge blocks again, and some tough defense. the kid has a lot of heart.

Everyone remembers the good defensive plays, and charting the game defensively Jeff Green makes a lot of them and definitely puts in the effort. I'm not saying doesn't have heart, but we need him to score the ball. He isn't paid to be a great defender because he isn't one. He'll make some great hustle plays but at the same time, Zach Randolph gets an inch on him inside and he doesn't have the prototypical strength to deal with him. You remember the nice block, but you forget that Jeff Green gave Zach Randolph a wide open layup that gave Memphis their initial seven point lead.

Jeff Green has to be a more efficient scorer; his hustle and 'heart' don't make up for the fact that teams with scoring fours or big front lines are going to abuse his size at least some of the time during a game. It's not enough to do the 'other things' if he's expected to be such a huge part of our core, and one of the stars on the team.

If that's Jeff Green's function, then he's a productive 6th man. Nothing wrong with that, it just means we need that legit second option. Can anyone say that's Jeff?

I do remember that, and your right for all of Jeff's hustle plays he just cant match up with the bigger guys consistently. I just would hate to trade Jeff because he is a smart player who plays with heart. As a 6th man he would be great, but that would mean he would be out during end of games where he is usually the best. Id rather get a great Center.

I don't dislike Jeff he's just.. I dunno, I get the feeling he's expected to do more than he's capable of. 43 minutes and 18 shots? I don't think that he's that type of player.

And how about Russell Westbrook? Sweet Jesus he's had a few horrible games. That 3rd quarter where Memphis couldn't score we should have been all over them, but we had a five minute period where we didn't SCORE A POINT. From 8:52 left in the 3rd to 3:48 left in the 3rd Russell Westbrook was 0-3 from the field with three turnovers, Jeff Green was 0-2, Kevin Durant was 0-2.. our offense was just disjointed. Maynor replaced Russ and we had an 8-2 run. Russ was dreaful.

If we scored any during that 5 minute period we probably have a 5 point lead or so into the fourth, and maybe it plays out different.

Russ has no BBall IQ. Great athlete who is very tenacious, but sometimes gets very lazy, and dumb. I know Russ will improve his IQ but will it be enough to lead us through the Playoffs where every possession is key? I'm very worried about him right now, still plays out of control. Thankfully we have Maynor, and hopefully Brooks uses him more when Russ plays bad.

Well, that game is history now.
Let's focus on Cleveland and make up for thi s L with a huge W.

Dont forget, they are without Mo Williams and Delonte West, which leaves Gibson as the starting point gourd with NO backup.
Westbrook needs to step up big time tonight and make them pay on offense.

Also, LeBron should be guarded by Jeff Green AND Thabo all the time.
I believe Ibaka will see alot of minutes tonight guarding Shaq.

Beat the Cavs!!!
Life may not be the party we hoped for but while we are here we might as well dance!

I agree with Slick, James Harden needs to start ASAP.

+1

durant needs a consistent robin and maybe harden and westbrook can play that position by committee until one of them learns to be consistent

The only thing with Harden starting is that our bench scoring is almost non-existent at that point. Maynor has stepped up and done a pretty nice job... but he's the only one out of Collison, Ibaka, Sefolosha and himself that should even have the ball. I know creative sub patterns can do a bit to help that... but I just see that being a really big issue. It's also nice to have a defensive stopped (Thabo) in the starting lineup so that we can put him on the other team's best wing...
