The Thunder's best rookie?

Post#1 » by wiff » Sat Apr 17, 2010 3:44 pm

Ok so the regular season is over. What Thunder rookie had the best year over all?

James Harden

James brought a nice little offensive punch off the bench. Learned to play "D" and has showed he can pass the ball.

Serge Ibaka

Serge brings energy and "D" all day long from the bench. He is really the only shot blocking threat the Thunder have. Has shown he has a semi consistent jumper from 15ft. Great man to man post "D"

Eric Maynor

Showed he is a very capable back up. Like most rookies his play was hot and cold. But overall did a great job with his role.

Byron Mullens

Byron didn't play enough minutes to qualify for the poll. The cut off was 55 minutes and he happened to only play 54 minutes. So he just missed out.

All of them had fantastic rookie seasons.
Ibaka started kinda slow, but was a beast in the last 20-25 (maybe more).
He's gonna have a very nice 2nd year, but so will Harden. They both will get more opportunity next year.
Maybe Maynor wont "improve" that much, because I dont think his minutes can go up as a backup of Russ Westbrook.

I just hope no significant player will be traded this summer. Is always a big fear... Maybe Nenad wouldnt be THAT big of a loss. Still, I like the man in the middle.
Life may not be the party we hoped for but while we are here we might as well dance!

They've all made progress. James Harden has become a great defender, and has progressed some offensively. Serge we all know. Maynor's looked better lately shooting the ball.

I'd say Harden had the most impact on the season since he's the only guy who's hit the three consistently for us all year and we looked horrible when he was out. Serge has definitely carved out a niche.

I'd probably pick james harden to be our best rookie,But overall all of them have definitely made progress in their games.

I'd say in the future,Eric maynor will probably be a chris duhon type of player for us,like when he was playing for the bulls. As for Ibaka i really hope he can be a paul millsap type of player for us,He has shown aggresiveness trying to get every rebound and loose balls. He can be that energy guy who comes of the bench that we really need.

As for james harden,Probably being our 4th option behind Durant, westbrook and green.Maybe we can't expect that much from him,But i'm pretty confident if something should happen to one of those three or when we really need a guy to step up for us.I'm really confident that he can be that guy,Maybe i'm being too optimistic but,I really think in the future his gonna be in the same level as Eric Gordon.I really see similarities in ther playing style.

Well what do you guys think?

I think Harden would be a better third option than Green, as soon as next season.
